This food is much more than ordinary! My family and I visited on ❤️🖤💚 . What a great day to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US! Our host/waiter was amazing, building is beautiful and so many options! (Very knowledgeable of gf allergies, celiac & contamination) Food is so flavorful and prices fit everyone’s budget. They have an awesome pick 2 for $11.99 menu. Or go all out for a $25 burger that has every meat you can think of on it that my son devoured!🤣

Took my kids to and it’s now a fave in our house! They do list which of their products are GF and contain some other food allergies. There is still corn syrup in most of their products for those of you that can’t have corn or avoiding corn syrup. Go visit and check them out if frozen custard is something you have always liked or wanted to try…you won’t be disappointed!!

Just found out 1892 East Restaurant & Tavern will be closing their doors. It was one of the first restaurants locally I would go to when I was diagnosed with celiac disease 15 years ago that cooked food I could trust Throughout the years as people would travel to Huntsville they would contact me and ask where to eat and this would be one of my recommended places. I think over the years they got lost in the growth of so many restaurants coming. I know they had the same look and same style from the time I first visited. However, their food was always so good and flavorful. They used local produce & meat and you could tell. The tomato basil soup and crème brûlée was always my favorite. It’s always sad to say goodbye to a restaurant who you know cared about their community in providing such great food and service. They will be missed!!

One of Huntsville's most popular restaurants in the Five Points district, 1892 East, has closed its doors for good.

It’s spring and a great time to visit tea house🫖. Right now you get to experience a Dowton Abbey theme at their beautiful house in downtown Madison. They have a menu that pairs wonderfully with different teas provided. All the GF food tasted amazing and was similar to what the other guests ate. It is recommended to make reservations if you need special accommodations and/or large groups. I will be going back again!

This GF, DF, and Paleo friendly Pancake Recipe never gets old. Check it out and make sure you don’t forget Otto's Naturals Casava Flour !

Pancakes...these are a few of my favorite things! .

Cassava Flour Pancakes:

1 C cassava flour
½ tsp grain free baking powder*
¼ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. sea salt
2 Tbsp. honey
2 large eggs
1⅓ C + 1 Tbsp. Separated coconut water/water from can (to do this step, put can in refrigerator over night. Scoop fat out and put in different bowl and into the fridge for later. Then use coconut fat to make whip cream!--2 in 1 👊🏻)
1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
3 Tbsp. coconut oil or olive oil

Instructions

Heat a griddle or pan over medium-low heat.
Melt the coconut oil and set aside.
Mix the coconut juice with vinegar in a small bowl and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
In another bowl, whisk together all of the wet ingredients (including the coconut juice mixture) except the coconut oil, so it doesn't solidify.
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry, then stir in the coconut oil. Batter will be thick.
Add about ½ tsp. of coconut oil and swirl around pan until it melts.
Pour ¼ C of batter into the preheated skillet. Cook until the edges look dry and bubbles start to form. Flip and cook until the other side is golden brown. Set aside and repeat with remaining pancakes. Enjoy!

Anyone else try , which can also be called ? I’m pretty amazed how there is no taste of it when added to drinks. I’m one to read up on things quite a bit before jumping in, so already coming from an animal background I understand colostrum purely from that concept: the benefits from the antibodies the babies need to build their immunity right after birth given by the mother. So why wouldn’t that benefit us in some way? I would love to do an update post later after taking this for a period of time. I have been pretty sick for awhile so this could be very beneficial if it works! 🤞

Great time at the annual luncheon charity event to bring awareness to ovarian and breast cancer. I was there to honor my friend struggling with breast cancer at this time so it was a time of encouragement and tears. Thanks for coming along and being my support in honoring our friend!

This event provided wonderful information on what is doing now to help in furthering their research in cancer treatment. I met one of the employees, Jasmine, who encouraged me so much, and when talking to her you know how much she loves her job! Im so thankful for an event like this that can bring some hope to those that may be fighting cancer in the future.

*side note..all food served was gluten free!!🙌🏻
