If blood sugar knowledge leaves you looking like this, you're definitely not alone. A lot of people don’t realize how much blood sugar runs the show.

There are the obvious effects, like energy crashes or shaky hands. Some of the lesser-known effects include waking up at night for no obvious reason, and feeling calm after meals one day and anxious the next.

Blood sugar doesn’t just affect diabetics. It affects us all with hormones, sleep, mood, focus, and cravings, quietly and constantly.

When it swings up and down, the body stays on edge, prompting the release of Cortisol. Cortisol sends for Adrenaline. Your sleep gets lighter, and your hunger gets louder.

If you feel better after eating but worse an hour later, that’s data.
If skipping meals makes you wired instead of hungry, that’s data.

The body keeps receipts. Learning from it is paramount to your health! 🌱

A quick check in for our community:

How many of you are doing all the “right” things and still feel off?

You eat better, take supplements, sleep more, and cut back on stress, yet your energy still dips for no clear reason. Your gut acts up. Sleep is hit or miss. Something just isn't lining up.

We see this all the time because the body runs on patterns. Your hormones, blood sugar, stress signals, and gut bacteria all talk to each other - regardless of whether we’re paying attention or not.

When one part goes sideways, the whole system feels it.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And, you’re not broken.

What’s the one thing your body keeps doing that you can’t explain?

We hear a lot of the same stories in our clinic. They can fall asleep just fine, but like clockwork, 2 or 3 in the morning hits, and their eyes jerk open as they jolt awake.

It's usually not as random as it seems.

Sometimes, your blood sugar dips too low overnight. Other times, it could be that your cortisol levels are high (the stress hormone).

Our bodies are machines. If we're waking up at the same time every night, it's because our body has learned something and is now repeating a pattern.

If this keeps happening, note how you feel when you wake up. Also, pay attention to what time you wake. That helps you get a clue on what's going on in your body, and that matters a whole lot more than any simple sleep tips we could give.

We'll keep talking about these things because you keep living with them. We're here to help.

Hello! A lot of new faces showed up here this week. Welcome to Odyssey Life Clinic! We're a small team (pictured here) working to get through the nearly 1,000 comments and the tons of messages we've received, so thank you for your patience!

We're a functional and integrative medicine clinic headquartered in Huntsville, AL. We host seminars and webinars, and here on socials, you can expect a mix of:
- Personal, fun imagery of our team
- Recipes
- Tips and Tricks
- Dr. White's thoughts

As a clinic, we put special focus on uncovering the root cause of your symptoms - not just treating them. Often, the mechanisms driving our issues include hormonal imbalances, gut health, stress, blood sugar, and sleep. All these systems talk to each other, whether we choose to pay attention to them or not!

If you're here because something small finally helped, or you're here because nothing helped, you're in the right place.

Stick around to learn a lot, be entertained, and have fun!

Let us know what made you stop scrolling and give us a follow if you'd like! We'd love to hear from you.
