Limited stock!

Due to clashing values with Amazon, capitalism, and overseas trade, we have decided to close our Amazon store as soon as we sell out of our Yoga Mats.

We have already sold out of the Mermaid Print and we have very limited stock of the Sloth Print.

If you have ever been tempted to buy one of these cute cork mats, now is the time--once they are gone they are gone!

Click the link in my bio to get a sloth mat while you still can!!

What is something that you loved to do as a child that you no longer do as an adult?

I used to go "lizard fishing" with my brother and his friends. We would use a fishing pole with a slipknot tied in the line to lower over sun-bathing lizards, yank them up and drop them in a bucket. We'd keep the lizards as pets for about a day and then let them go again. 🦎

I had a dream last night that my 5-yr-old was diagnosed with cancer and had 10 days to live.
If anyone reading this has had to endure the loss of a child, words can not express how my heart aches for you. No parent should have to go through that. I woke up crying and determined to get my tasks done early this morning, so that I could have some undistracted quality time with her today.

I feel that dreams like the one I had last night are such a gift--a reminder that life is temporary and precious.

And the little things? They aren’t so little. Our lives and our relationships are all made out of little moments-- and that's what we miss most when they are gone.

Jaylee calling me her flower-mommy and playing with my hair.

Lindy’s scrunched up nose and cute little teeth when she smiles.

Maddox laughing and lovingly teasing his sisters.

Those aren’t little things. They are everything.

A good thing to remember this Valentine's Sunday 🙂

Brené Brown anyone? She knows how to cut right to the heart of things, doesn't she. Mindfulness to me is embracing that authentic part of ourselves. Learning to love without judgement and recognize that we aren't our thoughts--we are something bigger, and we are worthy of self-love.

I recently did a guided meditation using the Calm App called “Gluggavedur” which is the Icelandic word for “Window Weather.” The kind of weather that is nice to look at, but not to be in (think a dark stormy night while you are inside curled up in a blanket with a hot cup of something yummy).

That is what I think is meant by this quote. We may experience our emotions, but we can act as observers from inside the coziness of our own mind--we don’t need to get swept away. This doesn’t mean we shut our emotions down--just that we try to listen to what they are telling us--respond to them rather than react to them.

Where are my Daniel Tiger Fans out there? Does this sound familiar? “When you feel so mad that you want to ROAR, take a deep breath….and count to four. 1...2….3….4….”
Drop me a 🎵in the comments if you recognize this song!

You know, sometimes I find myself wondering how to best teach my kids how to be mindful; But I think the answer is: THEY ALREADY ARE.

Mindful parenting is really more about being a mindful parent. Sometime between childhood and adulthood, many of us forget the art of mindfulness. We lose that childhood ability to watch the clouds or be fascinated by ants building their ant hill. I think the key is to help kids not FORGET to enjoy the moment. We need to stop teaching them to care more about their future than the present moment. We need to enjoy the present moment WITH them….and boy can that be a challenge.

For a minute, let’s stop trying to be the teachers and let the zen masters teach us.
