Alright, y'all. Let's talk about shin splints...

β†’ This overuse injury commonly affects runners. Essentially, it's an injury of the soft tissue (that holds the muscle to bone) that's caused by a rapid increase in intensity or frequency of running, improper shoes, or flat feet.

Shin splints are a common injury in any sport that involves strenuous running – like soccer, football, basketball, etc.

To prevent them, make sure you're getting plenty of rest between sessions. Also, make sure you replace your shoes regularly! (For runners, that's every 300-500 miles.)
