FIGHT for ELI

FIGHT for ELI ELIJAH is starting his battle with A.L.L leukemia. Please follow here for updates on how he is doing! On Weds. By Saturday at noon, June 13th we had a dx.

June 10, 2015 I woke up to Elijah in tears over a headache he just couldn't kick. I figured he was having a migraine and gave him some pain medication an icepack and told him to lay in a quiet dark room and see if it got better. By Thursday afternoon he said the pain had lessened but was still hurting. I decided it was time to go to the Dr. We went to same day care and they drew some blood work and scheduled a CT for the next morning. At 930 Friday morning I got a call his Peds Dr. wanted to see us.. Dr. Lane took Eli and I into the office and explained he saw something funny in Eli's blood work and had contacted Dr. Rosen a pediatric oncologist and he would get back with us as soon as the Oncologist and him talked. Within an hour of seeing Dr. Lane he called me back and said Dr. Rosen wanted Eli admitted to Wesley for more tests and observation. of A.l.l. Leukemia.. blood cancer words a parent never wants to hear in a sentence with their childs name. On Sunday he had a port-a-cath surgery to install a port to receive all his chemo and blood work thru and on Monday he had a spinal tap, bone marrow aspiration, and first chemo treatments. We are in the induction phase of a 3 year treatment plan barring no complications. Please keep Eli and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers during this battle!! God Bless!
