🎉Employee of the Month: Emily Teague, Service Ambassador 🎉

Emily Teague has been selected as the July employee of the month for Carolina Burke. She was nominated because she is amazing at what she does and represents everything that CROB stands for in relation to customer service. Emily is always there to lend a hand to others and always has a smile on her face. She is the welcoming person that everyone first sees when entering the building, and many times, also the first impression of the care that we are known for. She answers questions for families and visiting vendors, demonstrates how to use the sign-in kiosk, and entertains residents when they want a change of scenery and someone to talk with. She directs the emergency personnel to the right hall when asked and yet handles all of the DoorDash orders that come to the building, too! Emily also has always been the point person for IT and somehow has already called before the building knows that something is not working with the phones, the internet, or printers. She previously worked in the dietary department, and all of the residents and staff loved her cooking and her knowledge of appropriate diets and preferences. She then transitioned to the service ambassador role in 2024 and has been sharing her smile ever since. Emily is married to her husband, Keith, and has one daughter, Megan. She has an amazing hand with crafts and, of course, can cook an amazing dish! We are so thankful that Emily is part of the CROB team!

What a fun week it has been! Each day of the week, we had a Field Day game for the residents where they showed off their skills and earned ribbons. We celebrated everyone's achievements at our pizza party, making it a truly memorable week!

We ended School Spirit Week with sports dress-up day, a science project, school lunch food fight, Field Day awards, and pizza!

We had an 80's themed Back to School dance on Thursday. It was totally radical to see staff, residents, and residents' family members enjoying themselves singing and dancing to 80s music! We served Pringles, Fruit Roll-ups ups and fruit punch! It was EXCELLENT!!

In honor of our School Spirit Week, we played a Guess Who: School Picture Edition game, where staff members shared their childhood photos. Participants had to guess the correct staff member from their old picture. The game included 14 staff members, and we added 12 photos of celebrities as well. Everyone had a great time and received gold star stickers! The winner was Meghan Matthews!

We had a blast for Wig Out Wednesday! Staff and residents wore different wigs and enjoyed a great time together.

Our School Spirit Week was a great success! We kicked things off with School colors/logos staff dress-up day and an Egg & Spoon race. Not a single resident dropped their egg!

For the first Tuesday of every month, SIR hosts an informational meeting, and this month, Carolina Burke was proud to welcome them to our facility. 🏡 We provided a delicious lunch for over 50 attendees 🥗✨ and were honored to have Hearing Life share an amazing presentation! 🎤💙

A huge thank you to SIR and to our outstanding Physical Therapist, Jake, and Physical Therapy Assistant, Jennifer, for an incredible demonstration with our volunteer, Hunter, from Catawba Valley YMCA. 🙌 We were also excited to showcase the amazing benefits of our AlterG technology to our community!
