I don't know about you, but sometimes I get annoyed/stressed/upset/resentful by the challenges I face.

"I'm just trying to live my life and/or accomplish a goal, why is this challenge getting in the way of that?"

It's like I think the path should be clear and challenges are just an irritation. But I've come to realize that a more helpful way to think about it is that life is like running track. I've signed up for an event with hurdles and then I'm mad when there are hurdles.

Running the race is going to go a lot better when I realize there are going to be hurdles, so I better learn to run hurdles. (And face planting and falling are going to be a part of learning.) The hurdles aren't there just to make things harder, they're part of the skill I'm developing.

This is the note I keep posted on my computer to remind me that the obstacles are part of the path, and it's going to be okay. I thought I would share in case this helps you too.
