JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Caregivers supports elderly with the activities of daily living. Offers support and companionship to clients. Helps clients handle day-to-day self-care, such as toileting and hygiene. Communicates with families of clients to apprise them of the client's condition and progress. Advises clients and families on nutrition, hygiene, household activities, and other appropriate areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct care to clients to improve or maintain their abilities according to the service plan developed by a Homecare Coordinator.
Seeks assistance of leadership when unsure of assignment or situation.
Receives and completes all care assignments and other activities as assigned.
Provides delivery of care in a compassionate, quality manner with kindness, respect, and dignity.
Participates in improving the quality of the environment by positively contributing to the elimination of odors and pressure wounds and maintenance of a clean environment.
Assists in activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, transferring, and feeding of clients by providing set-up assistance, verbal prompts, physical support or other assistance as properly directed.
Assists clients with homemaking duties including meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry.
May assist with companion or sitter-like services to provide respite care to primary caregivers of individuals served.
Utilizes an Electronic Medical Charting system to document daily activities at each shift assignment.
Communicates regularly verbally and in writing with leadership to report client changes in condition and/or other concerns related to the care of the individual.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
18 years of age or older
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally or in writing
Must be able to commit to the training and orientation schedule
Able to pass Background Check
Recent TB and CPR
