This new location expands access to home care in the region, increasing the number of counties we serve in Ohio from 18 to 25.

This week is National Public Health Week.

But what does public health have to do with home health and home care?

More than you’d think.

🚨 3.8 million hospital readmissions occur in the U.S. annually, at an average cost of $15,200 each. Home-based care is one of the most effective tools for preventing them.
🚨 77% of adults over 50 want to age in place. That's only possible when skilled, consistent care comes to them.
🚨 Medicare home health is designed specifically for homebound patients — people the rest of the healthcare system has the hardest time reaching. Those patients are also among the most vulnerable: readmission rates are consistently higher among racial and ethnic minorities, people with dual Medicare-Medicaid eligibility, and those in underserved communities.

When individuals stay healthier at home, the whole public health system benefits. Fewer hospitalizations, lower costs, and care reaching people who'd otherwise go without.

That's public health. And it's what our teams do every day. 💙

Last week, we joined hundreds of community members at the DuPage County Senior Expo, an event that brought together resources, conversations, and support for older adults and their families.

Our Park Ridge, IL team connected with more than 300 attendees, shared what coordinated home health and home care really look like in practice, and listened to what people need most to stay safe and independent at home.

Events like this reinforce the role local, accessible care plays in helping people navigate aging with confidence.
