Elizabeth Holder is the founder and sole owner and operator of Body Insured Consulting, LLC. Her first experience navigating health insurance for reconstructive plastic surgery began when she was around 14 years old while seeking coverage for a medically necessary breast reduction. That early experience exposed her to the complexity of insurance approvals, medical documentation, and the challenges many patients face when trying to access medically necessary care.
Years later, after losing more than 100 pounds and facing ongoing body shaming related to excess skin, Elizabeth again found herself navigating the insurance system. She also lives with PCOS, POTS, hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), and lipedema. Through persistence, research, and self-advocacy, she navigated the insurance process on her own to obtain coverage for multiple medically necessary reconstructive plastic surgeries and related treatments.
Elizabeth is now a licensed health insurance producer in multiple states. Through Body Insured Consulting, she combines her lived experience with professional training to educate and guide individuals through understanding the insurance process, including policy language, documentation requirements, and appeal options.
Elizabeth created Body Insured Consulting because she understands how overwhelming the process can feel when someone is trying to advocate for their health. Navigating insurance often involves extensive paperwork, medical records, and communication with providers and insurance companies. Her work focuses on education, advocacy, and helping individuals better understand how to navigate the system.
