They are not the same!!! 🙂‍↔️

Although dry needling and acupuncture are both used to treat pain and they use the same needles, they are very different!

Acupuncture follows Chinese medical principles like energy flows, acupoints, meridians, etc. It is believed that specific acupoints lie along meridians, which are considered channels for the flow of qi (vital energy). These meridians are mapped to organ systems rather than just anatomical structures.

Dry needling is based on modern medicine. It can help to bring fresh blood flow to a muscle, joint, nerve, tendon, etc. so the body can heal itself. It also has a systemic (whole body) effect which can feel like your nervous system calming down or getting a little reset!

Somehow our baby is 6 months old 😍

What a beautiful ride it has been becoming a mom to my sweet girl 🥹

Through the ups and downs of my postpartum journey, my love has grown more than I could’ve ever imagined.

My life is forever changed and I can’t wait for the rest of forever with my little bestie 🩷

As a PT who treats neck pain, I get this question A LOT 👇🏼

"What pillow do you recommend?" 😴

I never used to have a good answer for this... It was always trial and error and hundreds of dollars later just to come up short and have 7 pillows that I hated.

Wildflower is celebrating 5 years in business this week and I couldn’t be more grateful!!

Don't fall into this trap... 🙄

Society wants us to believe that our self worth is tied to the way our body looks. There is a certain beauty standard that we feel shackled to because we are told time and time again that this is the only way to be accepted, to be beautiful, to be healthy.

F**K THAT!

Your body is the least interesting thing about you.

I have met SO MANY people who by all intensive purposes have a "perfect body" according to societal standards... but guess what? They don't have a period, they struggle with eating disorders, they have horrible labs, they struggle with their mental health, they isolate themselves from social events out of fear. Does this sound healthy to you??

Health comes in all shapes and sizes. Good or bad. Never forget this. You absolutely cannot "see health" simply by looking at someone's appearance.

In my opinion, your goals and aspirations, your passions, your career, your experiences, your sense of humor, your body's ability to run a marathon, lift weights, carry children..... are all FAR MORE INTERESTING than ***what your body looks like***

Each one of us has the responsibility to flip this script one day at a time. You are allowed to tell people not to comment on your body. You also have the power NOT to fall into this trap yourself.

Unpopular opinion 👇🏼

You actually don't have to start over...

I really hate this concept. Why do we feel the pressure to completely start over if we "fail" or if we "fall off the wagon"? I hear this so often and here's my advice:

You didn't FAIL. You didn't FALL OFF THE WAGON. Life throws so many things at us constantly. There will be shifts and changes in priorities depending on what life throws at us. It's ok if exercise, healthy eating, mental health practices, self care, etc. take a back seat sometimes.

I always try to remind my clients that wellness is a way of life... Not just some task we need to check off of our checklist. It will always be there. We will always be able to work toward the overall goal of being a healthier happier person.

I think with this mindset it takes the pressure off of those strict exercise and healthy habit goals that so many of us feel imprisoned by.

You will survive if you don't work out for a month. You will survive if you eat fast food for a week because you have no time to do anything else but work or take care of your kids.

Don't be so hard on yourself, and remember, health is a privilege. The best part? It's ALWAYS there for us to work on.

March… you were good to us 🤩

Dahlia has made this the best month of our lives 🥹 we love being parents and are just so grateful for our miracle girl 💖

Churro is adjusting well and loving his new BFF.

We had a massive ice + snow storm that had us without power all day yesterday… thank goodness for family with warm and welcoming homes!

Thank you to everyone who reached out to me, I’m healing slow but sure from my c section and looking forward to being able to start my movement journey again soon.

Until then I’ll be soaking up all of the newborn snuggles and enjoying every fleeting moment.

Life is good 😌
