Our commitment to care doesn’t stop with our patients. Through volunteerism, donations, and community partnerships, our team gives back with heart.

Last month we partnered with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc. Together, we helped pack and provide 11,667 meals to facing food insecurity.

We’re proud to serve not just our patients and families, but our entire community.

Family is so important, and many grandparents hold a very special place in the lives of their grandkids.

According to the National Poll on Healthy Aging, older adults with grandchildren report feeling less isolated and having better mental health. This is particularly true when there is daily or near-daily contact.

We know it's not always possible to see family daily. Phone and video calls, photographs and letters are all wonderful ways to facilitate connection between the generations.

To all our patients that are grandparents, we wish you a wonderful day of connection with your loved ones.

Hospice care doesn't require a specific emotional outlook from the patient to be beneficial. Regardless of how patients are feeling, the goal of hospice care is to increase of life as much as possible.

And sometimes, this care allows for a gentle reframe that brings back those glimmers of hope.

Meet Nancy & Bill.👋👋

Nancy is a retired hospice nurse turned volunteer who embodies true compassion and resilience. After a serious injury in early June, she temporarily lost her ability to walk and drive -- but not her determination.

Despite recovering from surgery and now using a wheelchair, Nancy has continued visiting her patient, Bill, who struggles to communicate but deeply values their growing connection. With help from family dropping her off, she’s stayed consistent in their visits. As she says:
“I show up to bring companionship and joy to my patient, but by the time I leave, I’m the one who’s received the joy.”

Nancy’s story reminds us that even in our hardest seasons, showing up for others brings meaning, healing, and joy.
