Let's us reflect on lane restrictions in funeral service. The funeral home handles everything related to the service and the church provides a place where the services can be held. The funeral Director and staff do not interfere with the minister's part in the service, therefore, the minister needs to respect the staff as well. Everyone needs to stay in their lanes.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our founder and owner, Mr. Oscar Oral Grundy. Mr. Grundy was a licensed funeral director, serving the families of his community for 75 years.

Services for Mr. Grundy will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6:00PM in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3801 Forest Manor Avenue, 46226 with visitation from 4:00-6:00PM, prior to the service. A private burial will take place Thursday, August 14 in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Grundy Memorial Chapel will not reopen on Dr. MLK, but will instead merge with Craig & Glazebrooks Funeral Services in Indianapolis, Indiana. After evaluating the physical updating our building would need, we have decided we are not in a position to put that much money into improvements at this time.

During the upcoming year, look for big changes on COLLEGE AVE that will bring together the Grundy, Sallee and Glazebrooks' families under one rooftop. In the meantime, I can still assist you in anyway by your contacting me directly on my cell phone or through one of the funeral homes below:

Greetings all,

Effective immediately, Grundy Memorial Chapel Inc. will be temporarily closed to gut our building and assess the damage inside, from excessive roof leaking that affected the roof down to the first floor of the building. We have been on the corner of 24th and Dr MLK since 1972 - serving our families and our community. Carolyn Sue Mabry, 84, of Lithonia, GA (formerly of Indianapolis, IN), passed away July 5, 2024. Services are Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 AM in Light of the World Christian Church, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00.
