Monday night, April 6th, 2026… was one of those nights that reminds you what really matters.
We served over 70 people at the East 38th Street Library here in Indianapolis—but the truth is, it wasn’t about the food.
It was about connection.
Families sitting together. Kids laughing and just being kids. Neighbors talking who may have never met before.
And we even had a little egg hunt for the kids…
We hid eggs filled with candy all around, and watching them run, laugh, and light up with excitement—those are the moments that stick. The kind of memories that last far beyond one night.
For a few hours… everything slowed down.
And what mattered most showed up.
Community.
I want to give a huge thank you to the East 38th Street Library here in Indianapolis and Branch Manager Bambi Pea for opening their doors and trusting me to be part of something like this.
Bambi isn’t just focused on what happens inside the library—she’s focused on the people who walk through its doors.
She leads with heart, making sure every person who comes in feels safe, welcomed, and supported. That kind of leadership is rare—and you can feel it the moment you step into the East 38th Street Library.
This library offers so much more than books. From gardening programs and tax assistance to children’s programs and community outreach, it has become a true resource center for the entire neighborhood—and that’s a direct reflection of Bambi and her team.
Because the truth is…
The library is NOT just a place for books.
It’s a place for resources, support, connection—and real impact.
And Monday night proved that.
And we’re just getting started.
Coming soon, we’ll be installing brand new garden beds at the library—something I’m proud to be doing alongside an incredible community partner, Bruce Neff with Armstrong Physical Therapy.
These garden beds will help provide fresh vegetables this spring and summer for the library’s food pantry and the families it serves.
That’s what this is all about—real, lasting impact right here in Indianapolis.
For those who don’t know me…
I’m Chuck Winslow.
A Marine veteran. A Community Ambassador.
…and for many of you, DJ Chuck—the free local DJ for seniors, veterans, and community outreach programs.
Every day, I help seniors, veterans, and families across Indianapolis navigate:
Medicare.
Retirement planning.
Life insurance and final expense.
Trust and legacy planning.
Child and grandchild protection.
Veteran and survivor benefits.
But that’s only part of what I do.
Because for me…
It’s not just about policies.
It’s about people.
It’s about bringing energy, joy, and connection back into our communities.
Whether that’s hosting events, playing music, or creating spaces where people can laugh, dance, and feel like they belong…
I don’t just want people to be protected.
I want them to live.
To enjoy life.
To feel connected.
And I want to be clear about something:
Everything I do is FREE.
No catch.
No pressure.
Just showing up, serving others, and doing my part to make life a little better—and a little more fun for the people around me.
This is just the beginning.
We’re bringing more events.
More education.
More music.
More connection.
More impact—right here in Indianapolis.
If you’re part of a library, senior community, church, or organization—and you want to bring something like this to your community…
Let’s make it happen.
Because at the end of the day…
Sometimes the most important thing we can do
is simply show up…
…and bring a little joy with us ❤️🎶
