Grief is a unique, non-linear journey influenced by individual personality and the nature of the relationship. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to grieve, so it's important to accept and respect the diverse ways people process loss.

🌿✨ Breakthrough for End-of-Life Doulas! ✨🌿

This week’s court ruling is a victory for free speech and end-of-life care. It allows doulas like me to continue offering services, resources, and compassionate guidance to our communities without the fear of being silenced or forced into licensing.

I am grateful to see this path expanding for families to receive the dignity, love, and support they deserve during life's most tender moments. 💚🌿✨️

Becoming an End-of-Life Doula:

Understand the Role: An end-of-life doula provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and families during the dying process. This includes everything from legacy work and vigil planning to active bedside presence and grief support.

Develop Self-Awareness: Before supporting others, it’s essential to explore your own beliefs, experiences, and comfort level with death and dying. Personal reflection lays the foundation for compassionate and grounded care.

Begin Learning Core Competencies: Start familiarizing yourself with core doula skills—deep listening, nonjudgmental presence, communication with families and care teams, and knowledge of the dying process (physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects).
