SUCCESS STORY! 💜💜💜

Bervin was admitted to Gennesaret Health Recovery Home from Hickory Treatment Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, following a seizure and head injury. Upon admission, he was without a phone, had a history of housing instability due to a disability-related eviction, and faced multiple barriers to stability.

During his stay, Bervin made significant progress toward his goals. He successfully obtained his State ID and Social Security Card and received assistance with retrieving his birth certificate. His SNAP/Cash Assistance application was submitted, and he also received a phone to improve communication and access to resources.

Bervin was connected with Christian Legal Services, which provided guidance and support regarding his past eviction. Through the dedicated efforts of the GHRH nurse and staff, Bervin achieved medical stability, ensuring he could move forward without immediate health crises impacting his progress.

With consistent effort and engagement with services, Bervin secured permanent housing in a shared living arrangement with utilities included. He is now connected to HUD-VASH and SSVF for ongoing veteran support services, ensuring continued housing stability and access to resources.

Bervin’s journey demonstrates the power of perseverance, resource coordination, and supportive services in helping individuals achieve stability after medical and housing crises. He leaves Gennesaret Health Recovery Home with the tools, connections, and housing he needs to move forward with confidence.
