June arrives quietly, but for those of us whose fathers now live only in our memories, it carries a different kind of weight.

While the world prepares to celebrate Father’s Day, many hearts begin counting the days with a mixture of gratitude and grief. Gratitude for every lesson, every sacrifice, every moment of love our fathers gave us. Grief because no matter how much time passes, there is still an empty space where their voice used to be.

A father’s love does not end when his life does. It lingers in the advice we still hear in our minds. It lives in the values he taught us. It appears in the little habits we inherited without even realizing it. And sometimes, in the quietest moments, it feels as though he is still walking beside us.

This month may bring tears. It may bring memories you thought you had tucked away. It may remind you of phone calls you wish you could make one more time, hugs you wish you could feel again, and stories you wish you had heard once more.

But it also reminds us of something beautiful. Love survives loss.

Some fathers hold our hands for only part of our journey. Yet their love remains with us for every step that follows. Their influence continues long after they are gone. Their legacy lives on in the people they helped shape.

So as Father's Day approaches, may we honor every Dad who is no longer here. May we speak their names, cherish their memories, and carry their love forward.
