Ithaca Doula Collective A collective of independent doulas serving the Ithaca and surrounding area with evidence-based, non-judgemental support during various family transitions.

We are a collective of independent doulas serving the Ithaca and surrounding regions with evidence-based, non-judgmental support for a range of support services that can include one or more of the following: birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, perinatal loss, abortion, miscarriage, adoption and/or other family transitions. We commit to the Collective and wider community through active participation, with individual, ongoing professional development, common code of ethics, mentorship, regular meetings, participating outreach and education, and by providing accurate and up-to-date information about our services and availability.

This month the Ithaca Doula Collective is reading "Babies Are Not Pizzas: They're Born, Not Delivered" by Rebecca Dekker, PhD, RN.

Book Club meets every Thursday evening from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This week we'll be discussing chapters 1 through 6. (Don't worry if you haven't read the whole section!)

The event is free, but it would be wise to bring some money in case you see anything that calls to you. And with the variety of tables, there’s a good chance you will. See you there!

The Ithaca Doula Collective is proud to announce its new book club!

This book club will feature a new book about pregnancy, birth, or the postpartum period every month. It will be led by doulas who are excited to share their unique perspective to help YOU prepare for your journey into and through parenthood.

In January, we’ll be discussing Penny Simkin’s “The Birth Partner” (6th edition). For the first meeting on January 8th we’ll be discussing chapters 1 through 4.

You don’t need to be working with a doula to join us! PM the page or comment “Book Club” to get the link to the virtual meeting room.
