Ithaca College Department of Physical Therapy

Ithaca College Department of Physical Therapy www.ithaca.edu/pt Ithaca’s physical therapy program is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country.

To meet the growing responsibilities and demands of this profession, we offer a six-year doctorate program. This curriculum results in a bachelor’s degree in clinical health studies and a professional doctorate in physical therapy. By the end of our program, you’ll be well prepared for the clinical, managerial, and educational roles of a physical therapy practitioner. Please check out our website http://www.ithaca.edu/hshp/depts/pt/ for more information! The IC PT faculty enjoy meeting with prospective or accepted students and families to discuss our program. If you are planning to come to Ithaca, feel free to ask an Admissions Office advisor to schedule an appointment.

Students from our DPT2 and DPT3 cohorts participated in “Strength and Conditioning for the Health Care Professional,” an orthopedic residency and continuing education course led by IC faculty Tim Reynolds and Dan Agnese. Always inspired to see our students build their skills and deepen their knowledge as they prepare for clinical practice!

Meet Kyle Davis, the newest member of the IC PT Alumni Council!

Kyle Davis is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist who currently serves as the Site Coordinator of Clinical Education for SPEAR Physical and Occupational Therapy. He graduated from Ithaca College in 2019 while competing on the Men’s Track and Field Team, and again in 2021 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since graduation, he has been working in Orthopedics, first in Midtown Manhattan, and now in Long Island City, for SPEAR. He then has gotten into teaching, mostly internally for new graduates. He sat for his OCS in 2024, and has since been involved as a Faculty Member in the SPEAR Orthopedic Residency, serving as a full-time clinical mentor for a resident, as well as teaching at quarterly intensive workshops about Evidence Based Practice, Foot and Ankle Exam and Treatment, as well as Management of Thoracic Spine. Additionally, he has been a guest lecturer at Ithaca College for the past 3 years, teaching about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Clinical Practice, as well as serving as an adjunct faculty member at Touro for the Spine course. He has been involved with students since 2023, after taking his first student, and then was promoted to Student Coordinator. He took over the role of SCCE in 2024, and has since implemented new programs for Orientation for CIs, Clinical Instructor Roundtables, and Exit Calls with students, as well as hiring a team of 4 Student Coordinators.

Meet Emily Caraglio, a new member of the IC PT Alumni Council!

My name is Emily (Gorman) Caraglio and I am an ICPT alum from the class of ‘05/‘06. That was right at the time Ithaca
College was transitioning to a DPT program so my class was offered the opportunity to stay on for another semester, after completing the Masters program, and also earn the Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I live in the
Rochester area with my husband and 2 sons. I have worked in many different settings over the course of my career including; SNF/LTC, acute rehab, acute care, outpatient neuro and most recently have found my way into pelvic health. I treat all ages and gender identities but I have a special place in my heart for working with the older adult population. I work at Evolve Physical Therapy of Rochester, an outpatient clinic in Rochester, NY, that specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy. I am grateful to have been asked to be a part of the ICPT Alumni Council and hope to encourage more pelvic health education and mentorship in the Ithaca College PT program going forward. 1 am passionate about educating my community on pelvic
health needs.
