All my life I thought that the story was over when the hero and heroine were safely engaged—after all, what’s good enough for Jane Austen ought to be good enough for anyone. But it’s a lie. The story is about to begin, and every day will be a new piece of the plot.

It just feels like Virginia people are MY kind of people. Had an amazing time with my best friend this weekend. So rejuvenating and enjoyable. Thank you for providing a lovely scene for us to enjoy art, yummy food and the perfect weather day. The market and it's vendors were adorable, refined, whimsical and brimming with beauty.

Wowow!!! Absolutely amazing.

A photo showing droplets of breast milk fending off armies of harmful bacteria in Petri dishes is going viral on Facebook.⁣

The photo, posted by a biology student in England, features nine Petri dishes completely colonized with the bacteria M. Luteus, except in the center, where tiny puddles of breast milk have created what looks like “moats” of protection around themselves.⁣

The student, Vicky Green, said she had similar results with Petri dishes full of e.Coli and the dreaded anti-biotic resistant “super bug” MRSA.⁣

“The white spots in the middle are discs soaked in two samples of breastmilk,” Green wrote in the caption of her post. “See the clear bit around the discs ― that’s where the proteins in the milk have inhibited the bacteria!”⁣

An article from YourPediatrician.com explains how this is possible:⁣

“About 80 percent of the cells in breast milk are macrophages, cells that kill bacteria, fungi and viruses. Breast-fed babies are protected, in varying degrees, from a number of illnesses, including pneumonia, botulism, bronchitis, staphylococcal infections, influenza, ear infections, and German measles. Furthermore, mothers produce antibodies to whatever disease is present in their environment, making their milk custom-designed to fight the diseases their babies are exposed to as well.”⁣

What’s even more impressive is that the samples of milk in the photos came from the mother of a 15-month-old and a 3-year-old, providing further evidence that breast milk continues to protect against illness long beyond infancy.

Maybe someone needs to hear this today.

You just can't do it all my friend. Especially as a parent. Each family has their own set of priorities. Some things get done and done well. Other things fall by the wayside and that's just life.

For example, we prioritize quality food and cooking alot at home - therefore most of the time we say NO to a busy schedule and too many activities on week nights. Essentially, in order to say YES to something that adds value to our family we have to say NO to something else. Is this a difficult thing to do? I'm sure you know the answer.

One thing that has recently brought me an abundance of peace in my heart is just reminding myself that I can't do it all. But I can do something.

It's this kind of grace that allows me to properly decide the best priorities for our family.
I can't do everything another mom can do. My family isn't her family, nor am I better or worse than another mom for having different values.

So we shake off guilt and then resolve to say yes to the priorities we have predetermined - like quality time, minimalism, wellness, faithfulness and staying active. And we do those things with our best effort.

Then when comparison sneaks in or we run into opposition here and there, we remember that it's okay not to do it all.

Tell me something you value and "do well" in your family!

Y'all. We've got !! Also, I'd love to have some people give me their thoughts on something so read on if you like to share your opinion.

But first, just so you know, there is a neat little freebie we call
t h e . o p t i m a l . l i f e . a s s e s s m e n t

It's a PDF file that you can download from our website, fill it out on your own and see where your life lands in terms of primal health. You in no way need to share it with us or anything! It's simply a resource to help you gauge health. Link in profile!

We also have resources about :
1. Sleep
2. Macronutrients
3. Fitness
And all you need to do is send us a DM requesting which one and I'll send them right at you!

Ok so, here is the part I need opinions on. I created the freebies because I was hoping it might lead to conversations. I don't want email addresses or blog followers. I just want to chat with people about something I am passionate about. I love when people have genuine interest or questions about alternative health.

Of course I am always looking for clients, but I don't really need that many(was blessed with enough this year!) And Jay and I also can't work with every person who wants to work with us so it's not even mostly about that. It's about me staying true to why I wanted to be a health coach in the first place. I wanted and still want to help people find their unique and authentic healthy lifestyle.

I don't want to be automated. Or on autopilot just to make more money. I don't want to create a virtual program and funnel people through some sort of email system. I don't want to spend more time creating content and less time with people. I want authenticity. Real relationships.

So my sincere question is: is this business style even feasible? Are we on our way to mass producing things that should still be "handmade" in the realm of and communication?

Or are there still pockets of people who have time to pursue personalized, maybe even challenging, attention via coaching?

Seriously, if you are still buying a bag of apples from BJs this time of year and you live in Chambersburg......step up your game and get to . You will not regret it!

Like I said earlier about variety: The easiest way to keep your diet diverse is to eat according to what is in season and become a part-time .

What's your favorite way to plug in to local produce?

What am I falling for lately?

Honestly, I am falling for SLEEP. I wish you could bottle it. And just somehow infuse it into your body.

But no, we have to take the time to sleep. Ugh. Such a chore.

Transition times like fall and spring I notice a shift in my sleep patterns, which is to be expected. It's normal to sleep longer in the winter since the hours of daylight are less than in the summer months.

I've been loving a warm herbal tea(catnip, lavender and chamomile) before bed. What is your go-to sleep enhancer??

You're never too old to . It can be such a life-giving habit.
I've been refurbishing furniture for the last 3 years and it is a refreshment that I am so grateful for! Losing myself in the creative process for a couple hours and having it feel like minutes is a big stress reliever for my brain and body.
What is your playtime??
