Hello all let’s talk about self care you can do post partum for your Csection scar. Always make sure you get clearance from your OBGYN/midwife, typically this begins 6-8 weeks post once incision is healed.

-section is a gentle technique used during recovery to improve healing, reduce scar tissue adhesions, and restore mobility and sensation around the scar. It can be incredibly helpful for reducing long-term discomfort or tightness and improving core and pelvic floor function. Here’s a general overview of how it works:

✋ Why Scar Mobilization Matters
* Prevents or breaks up adhesions (when scar tissue sticks to underlying tissues like fascia, muscle, or organs).
* Improves range of motion and core function.
* May reduce numbness, tightness, or pulling sensations.
* Can help with emotional connection to the scar, which some find helpful in postpartum healing.

🤲How to Mobilize the Scar (At Home)
Start with clean hands and light touch. Begin gently and gradually work deeper as tolerated:
1. Skin Rolling: Gently pinch the skin above and below the scar and roll it between your fingers. Do this in small sections.
2. Side-to-Side Movement: Place fingers on the scar and gently move the skin side-to-side, like sliding it over the tissue beneath.
3. Up-and-Down Movement: Same as above, but move the skin vertically.
4. Circular Motions: Use two fingers to gently make small circles on and around the scar.
🔁 Repeat each for a few minutes daily. Use a gentle, unscented oil or lotion if desired

Welcome to awareness month. Can you believe the surgeon cuts through layers to get the baby out.

During a cesarean section, the surgeon typically incides through seven layers of tissue to reach the baby. These layers are:
1. Skin: The outer layer of the abdomen.
2. Subcutaneous tissue: Fat and connective tissue beneath the skin.
3. Fascia: A tough, fibrous layer that covers the abdominal muscles.
4. Re**us abdominis muscle: Two vertical muscles that run along the front of the abdomen.
5. Peritoneum: A thin membrane that lines the abdominal cavity.
6. Uterus: The muscular organ where the baby develops.
7. Amniotic sac: The fluid-filled membrane that surrounds the baby.
