I am excited to share our faculty for Brain Health Week! 🧠

Dr. Julie is a cognitive neuroscientist, science communicator, and author of the Better Brain Substack.  She’ll be teaching a 4-part series about how to use brain exercises to strengthen memory and improve lifelong brain performance, including tips to Stress-Proof Your Brain and the Neuroscience of Building Habits.

 Laura is a professionally trained chef, certified nutrition consultant, and the co-author of two books on nutrition and dementia prevention (Diet for the MIND and The Official MIND Diet) written with Dr. Martha Clare Morris and Jennifer Ventrelle. Laura specializes in translating cutting-edge research into real-life strategies that support cognitive health through food and movement.

 Jennifer is a registered dietitian, Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center, and co-author of The Official MIND Diet. She specializes in developing programs that reduce dementia risk and promote well-being through the MIND diet and other sustainable lifestyle habits. Jennifer designs and directs behavioral intervention trials, including the U.S. POINTER Study, the largest lifestyle intervention trial in the U.S. aimed at preventing cognitive decline.

Carrie is a plein air artist, art educator, and founding director of  (https://www.instagram.com/jhpublicart/). She’ll be giving hands-on plein air painting workshops for everyone including absolute beginners. In addition, she’ll be speaking about The Artful Mind: Creativity for Cognitive Wellness.

Annie Fenn, MD (that’s me!): I’ll be your host for Brain Health Week. I’ll moderate a panel discussion with faculty about The Art and Science of a Healthy Brain; teaching hands-on cooking classes  cooking school, and collaborating with the Ranch’s Chef  for a farm-to-table dinner; speaking about all the ways you can take care of your brain; & hosting workshops in tea, chocolate, and olive oil tasting for my BHK retreat group that week.
