Women’s History Month: Celebrating a Founder Who Helped Build IEP
During , we’re proud to recognize Dr. Christine Morrison, one of the founding members of Independent Emergency Physicians.

Twenty-nine years ago, Christine and ten colleagues took a bold step. They chose to leave the security of traditional employment and build something different — a physician-owned, physician-led practice with a simple purpose: taking care of the patient by taking care of the provider.

It was a risk, a vision, and a bold decision that became Independent Emergency Physicians. Today IEP has grown to 450+ providers, caring for hundreds of thousands of patients each year across hospitals and urgent care centers.

Christine continues to be an active physician partner in the group she helped build. Her leadership helped shape the culture that defines IEP today: clinical excellence, physician partnership, and a deep commitment to patients and the communities we serve.

Today we celebrate Dr Morrison for the courage it took to build something new – and something lasting.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month!

Your health matters, and early detection can save lives. Colorectal cancer often develops without noticeable symptoms at first, which is why staying informed and paying attention to changes in your body is so important.

Last year, IEP Charities was proud to support the Henry Ford Health Rochester Hospital Golf Outing. All the proceeds from this event were donated to support a new comprehensive digestive health center in the Rochester community. This expansion and enhancement of the hospital's digestive health program will ensure the acquisition of critical staff as well as diagnostic, therapeutic, and surveillance equipment needed to save lives.

If you notice symptoms like ongoing abdominal discomfort, changes in bowel habits, or unexplained fatigue, you may want to consider getting screened. For more information on prevention and when to seek care, contact your primary care provider.

Your health is worth discussing!
