Cluster feeding is one of the most intense & demanding parts of breastfeeding that can be challenging and surprising to new moms!

If you’re worried that your baby feeding often may mean something is wrong with your supply, remember that TRUE low supply is measured by how consistent and effective milk transfer is over time (usually 24hrs), not temporary feeding patterns. Cluster feeding is part of how babies build and fine-tune supply!

Sometimes you just need the reminder that you & your baby are designed to be perfectly tuned to one another. 🌿🧬

It can be easy to forget amidst advice about sleep training and feeding that is biologically NORMAL to have frequent night wakings, feeds, and contact naps. All they have ever known is you, and co-regulation is truly amazing for both baby & mama. You are not doing anything wrong if you aren’t on a schedule and feel like the only time your baby is happy is with you. You are right where you need to be. 💕

If breastfeeding feels painful beyond the first few seconds it’s definitely time to pause and reassess the latch. Early discomfort is totally normal, but ongoing pain every time your baby latches is a sign something needs adjusting. Pain is not something you’re meant to push through!

Small changes in posture and positioning can make such a difference 💛
