My name is Katlyn Billue, and I have been practicing Spelling to Communicate (S2C) since 2019. This work has shaped the way I understand communication, autonomy, and the importance of truly presuming competence. I am a member of the faculty with the International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC), where I support and mentor practitioners as they continue to grow in their practice.

Outside of sessions, I love to read, create, and think outside the box. I share my life with my dog, Sophie, and I find a lot of joy in the quieter, everyday moments. That creativity naturally carries into my work, where I enjoy problem-solving alongside my spellers and finding individualized approaches that support each person in building reliable, intentional communication.

The Jacksonville Speller Collective was created from a desire to build connection and shared growth. S2C practitioners continue to deepen their practice through collaboration and support from one another, and I believe that kind of community is essential. I also want families to feel supported and connected—to know they are not alone in their journey.

Through this collective, my hope is to foster a space where spellers, families, and practitioners can come together, learn from one another, and continue growing a strong, connected S2C community here in Jacksonville.

Colleen Hoffman is a Speech-Language Pathologist with almost 20 years of experience helping individuals find their voice. Following graduation from the University of Florida, she continued her education at the University of Tennessee to pursue aural rehabilitation for the deaf and hard of hearing community. Her career has taken her through a variety of rewarding settings including outpatient care and the public school system providing services for both children and adults. Colleen recently completed her Spelling to Communicate (S2C) training and is passionate about supporting nonspeakers and building a thriving S2C community here in Jacksonville. When she’s not working, you can find her in Ponte Vedra Beach enjoying the beautiful chaos of life with her husband, two daughters, and her Goldendoodle!
