Potty Training Boys Tip #1: Let Him Watch and Learn.

Toddlers learn by imitation, so having an open door policy and encouraging him to watch his dad or older brothers going to the toilet will help a lot. However reluctant that might be, encourage dad to start talking about peeing and pooping with his son, and you can explain that Daddy uses the toilet differently than mommy. Swap diapers for "big boy" underwear and encourage him to take them on and off himself when he's getting dressed!!

ABC's of Potty Training
"C" - Create a Routine
For the first 3 days or so of potty training, you're going to have to create a routine. Remember to set your child on the potty first thing in the morning, after meals, and before and after naps, at an absolute minimum. Having potty training books available to read, games to play, and a reward system may provide a bit of extra motivation and entertainment!

Potty Training Tip #3: Stay Consistent and Stay Positive!!

Consistency is key! I will say it again - POTTY TRAINING CAN BE STRESSFUL.... BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE. It is important to have patience and show Grace to yourself and your child.
Stay positive!! Just like you are potty training your child, your child is also training you. It is equally important to acknowledge how good of a job you are doing and to reward yourself as well. You are doing a great job and I am proud of you!!

Potty Training Tip #2: Prepare your child.
The ideal age to start potty training is 18 months or older, or when your child starts to show readiness signs or can communicate through gestures, sign language, or any other verbal/nonverbal way. This is the time you should actively start watching for these signs of potty training readiness.
No matter if you decide to start potty training earlier or later in your child's life, you'll get cues on "when it's time" from your child. That Independence will start emerging and shining through and they will be eager to please and more accepting to the transition of going from wearing diaper / pull-ups to wearing "big boy / big girl" underwear!

One of the secrets to potty training success is making sure you have all the essential equipment and supplies before you begin. Start with these necessities to prepare for and build your child's interest in potty training.
You have an opportunity to make yourself really popular here if you let your child choose the seat on his or her own. Let your child pick out some "big kid" underwear, too. There are tons of character underwear choices out there to make your child feel safe and make potty training more fun!!

You have to ask yourself if you’re ready, too. Many parents take three solid days to commit to nothing but potty training. Make sure that your child’s caregivers are just as committed. Don’t worry; many are just as excited as you are to say goodbye to diapers!
