🙌 Meet Joey Boone.

Last year, Joey found himself back in Clay County Jail — feeling hopeless and worthless.

Then something changed.

While incarcerated, Joey attended an Elevate Life Church service. The jail team poured love and hope into him, and told him there is life beyond those walls. They introduced him to Foundations of Freedom — a chance to break free from the bo***ge of addiction and learn a new way to live.

No probation. No pressure. Joey made the decision himself. He decided this would be the last time he ever hit a bottom.

Over the past year, Joey has done the hard work — healing, growing, and allowing God to do surgery on his heart, mind, and soul. 💙

Today, Joey stands before us victorious — celebrating sobriety, a completed FOF program, and a life of true freedom.

🏆✝️ On this Good Friday, we are reminded that over 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ went to the cross so that every single one of us could walk in true and lasting freedom. He paid a debt He didn’t owe, so that we could receive a gift we didn’t earn — and that gift is new life. Today, we get to celebrate that gift in a powerful and tangible way! Congratulations to Jeremy on completing the Foundations of Freedom program and 18+ months of continuous sobriety. Your story is a living testimony of exactly what the cross made possible. Chains broken. Life restored. Freedom found. We are so incredibly proud of you, Jeremy — keep walking in the freedom that was purchased for you. He is worthy of every bit of this! 🙏

I used to carry a lot of ego and noise. Somewhere along the way, I learned something simple: treat people right, and life gets better.

Foundations of Freedom helped me face myself, let go of what was holding me back, and start living with purpose.

Today I’m a house leader, giving back every day.

With this addition, Foundations of Freedom is now partnered with Jacksonville and five surrounding counties, expanding our reach and impact like never before.

From broken to rebuilding — 2 years sober. This is Joe’s story.

Sometimes I found myself living outdoors—but God didn’t let that season last long. He kept opening doors, giving me chance after chance to get my life back on track, even if it meant a short stay in a shelter.

I’ve been told that my struggles and pain show through. Maybe that’s true. I was never very good at wearing a mask. I tried to convince myself I could be happy on my own, but deep down I knew it wasn’t real. I was avoiding my problems instead of facing them and making a change.

During that time, I didn’t have my kids in my life. Addiction took me away from them—and that’s something I carry with me.

Today, things are different. By the grace of God, I’m sober, I’m free, and I’m rebuilding what was lost. Now I have my kids back in my life, and I get to spend time with them every weekend—something I’ll never take for granted.

I’ve learned that the only way I can truly be at peace within myself is by staying sober and walking in freedom—free from the chains that once held me down. And I know I don’t have to do it alone.

With God in my life, I’m learning to stay humble, grateful, and content. His Spirit is what keeps me grounded—and moving forward.

Giving a huge shoutout to our brother David, who just launched his landscaping business — Personal Touch Landscaping. 🌿

David has always had a deep love for gardening and nature. But for many years, drugs and alcohol caused him to lose sight of who he was. Last year, everything changed. Through God and Foundations of Freedom, he found sobriety and a new beginning.

One of the first things he rediscovered in recovery was his passion for gardening — something he shared with his mom for years as they built beautiful gardens together. After she was recently diagnosed with cancer and passed away, David made a powerful decision. Instead of going back to old ways, he chose to honor her memory by carrying on the legacy they built together.

That’s how Personal Touch Landscaping was born.

His mission is simple: treat every yard like it’s his own and put the same love and care into it that he would his own home.

As David puts it:
“Everybody deserves a serene space where they can relax and find their peace. I’ve always wanted to help create those spaces, and that’s why I give it a personal touch.”

Fitness Friday at Foundations of Freedom 💪

Strong bodies help build strong minds. For the men in our program, fitness isn’t just exercise—it’s a healthy outlet, a confidence builder, and a reminder that change is always possible.

Recovery is about building a new life—and that includes healthy habits. The gym gives our guys a positive outlet, a chance to challenge themselves, and a place where hard work turns into confidence.

From Rock Bottom to Redemption. ✨

When Marc came to Foundations of Freedom a little over a year ago, he was at the end of his rope. Addiction had left him homeless, broken, and out of his children’s lives. He knew deep down that if something didn’t change, his next stop was going to be jail or the grave.

Thankfully, a friend told him about FOF. Marc took a leap of faith, made the call, and committed to the work. He didn’t just go through the motions; he applied himself and dove into the curriculum headfirst.

Today, we get to celebrate a different man.

One year later, Marc stands tall—not only as a redeemed child of God, but as a father who is present in his kids’ lives, a leader in his church, and a mentor to other men walking the same path he once did.

Marc, your strength and dedication are an inspiration to us all. Happy one year. We’re proud of you. 💙

Another powerful Sunday night at Foundations of Freedom. 🙌

A huge thank you to Gary for sharing his story and dropping a truth bomb that resonated with the whole room: the most dangerous anger is the kind we keep locked up inside.

It’s a good reminder that our goal isn’t to become superheroes. It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing up as we are, being honest about where we’re at, and committing to the work, day by day.

One day at a time. That’s how we build real growth and earn real freedom. 💪
