Let’s Talk! Mental Health in Men…

Although mental illnesses are more prevalent in women than men, roughly 1 in 10 men experience some form of a mental health disorder, but less than half seeks treatment.

There is a stigma around mental health in men. Men are more likely to feel judged, misunderstood and often misdiagnosed.

Mental health is a core component of overall wellness, yet is routinely overlooked in men.

Fast Facts-
•Men are more likely to suffer in silence
•Men experience a higher rate of su***de.
•Men are more likely to suffer from alcohol abuse/use.
•6 out 10 men experience at least one traumatic event in their lives causing PTSD.
•49% of men feel more depressed than they admit to the people in their life.

So, what can be done? Check in with them, show them love and support, and most importantly tell them to get help from a professional.
