May is Mental Health Awareness month and we can all use a boost every now and then when feeling overwhelmed, down, frustrated, you name it!

☺️ Spotted Bananas are here to help us “split” away from depression. 🍌

These bad boys contain tryptophan, an amino acid. Your body utilizes this amino acid in the manufacturing of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is closely linked to the state of mind, as well as to sleep. Thus, bananas help you achieve a sense of calm, as well as help you get sound sleep!

Just another Manic Monday. I personally look forward to the stretch and cool down portion of my workouts, especially on Monday. 4 Count Breathing is one of the sweetest gifts you can give your body. Benefits include reducing stress while increasing endorphins. By taking deep breaths, your heart rate slows, delivering oxygen to the bloodstream and ultimately communicates with the brain to relax.

Sara picked a peck of . 🫑

I don’t have a green thumb. I have at times neglected this beautiful fruit. Words can’t express the feelings of gratitude I held, watching this plant grow from little seedling to adult. 🌱

With that gratitude also came feelings of sadness, as I discovered those neglected bell peppers, that were now ruined, I believed, due to their lack of support. Imagine my immense joy when discovering those peppers weren’t ruined at all, only bruised. 💜

My garden has proven to be a great place to center my mind and body while connecting with God.

Just like the burden life sometimes provides, these peppers felt weighed down and needed a little help being held up, a little support.

I know someone needs this message, and I hope this moves you to remember that everyone needs support sometimes.

Find your . I find my stillness in the garden. Where do you find ?

I’d love for you to join me on this journey, stay tuned. 💜

Plant with intention. Here’s my before. The after will be epic.

1 Corinthians 3:7

So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.

April showers brought our beautiful May flowers. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

Take a moment to gaze upon the beautiful butterfly below and practice Deep Diaphragmatic breathing. Practice gratitude for the month of April, mixed in with excitement for this Marvelous Month of May!

🌸🌺🌸🌺

1. Sit comfortably, with your knees bent and your shoulders, head and neck relaxed.

2. Place one hand on your upper chest and the other just below your rib cage. This will allow you to feel your diaphragm move as you breathe.

3. Breathe in slowly through your nose so that your stomach moves out against your hand. The hand on your chest should remain as still as possible.

4. Tighten your stomach muscles, letting them fall inward as you exhale through pursed lips. The hand on your upper chest must remain as still as possible.

Practice this exercise 5-10 minutes about 3-4 times per day.

If you really want to be too cool for school. 😎
Gradually increase the amount of time you spend doing this exercise, and perhaps even increase the effort of the exercise by placing a book on your abdomen.
