With over 18 million cancer survivors in the U.S. alone, cancer survivorship deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. Not just this month, but every day.

As a pelvic health and oncology physical therapist, I see firsthand how powerful recovery can be when people have access to the care they need. But not everyone gets that chance. Racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and other underserved groups still face real barriers in cancer care.

We need to change that, because every survivor deserves to heal, thrive, and feel seen.

❤️ Like and share this post to help spread awareness and support survivors everywhere this month and beyond.

Lying down in certain positions can help relieve pelvic organ prolapse (POP) symptoms by reducing pressure, but symptom relief is just one piece of the puzzle. 🧩

For long-term support and symptom improvement, active treatment is key. That means exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor and core, improve pressure management, and train your body to move and breathe in a way that supports your organs. These strategies can help reduce heaviness, bulging, and discomfort over time.

❗️Did you know? The Pap test does NOT detect ovarian cancer.

Ovarian cancer often causes vague symptoms, and there’s currently no reliable early detection test. As a result, about 70% of cases are diagnosed in later stages, when treatment is more difficult and survival rates are lower. That’s why recognizing the signs and symptoms is so important.

➡️ Swipe through to learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

The last couple days back on campus at for the 40 Gators Under 40 celebrations were absolutely incredible. I had the opportunity to reconnect with the department, see the growth of the campus and impactful services offered to students, and get inspired by the amazing honorees.

The went above and beyond for the celebrations this weekend, and I’m grateful I could share the weekend with my family and new 40 Under 40 friends!

I’m deeply honored to be part of the 2025 cohort and leave the celebrations feeling more inspired and lifted by UF itself, the other honorees, and the students we met.
