In the midst of flu season, Oluwadamilola Oni, MD, of FMOL Health | St. Dominic reminds us that viruses don’t just spread through the air but also linger on surfaces, making handwashing and proper cleaning essential. She encourages anyone feeling unwell to distance themselves from others and practice safe food handling to reduce the spread of both respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses.

Congratulations to Amber Norsworthy, Patient Access Representative at the Adult Neurology Clinic, who was named the most recent FMOL | St. Dominic Franciscan Service Award recipient. The Franciscan Service Award is the highest honor a team member can receive across our health system for those who go above and beyond to exemplify the values of our organization and to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Ashleigh Nowell, Practice Manager and Amber’s supervisor, said what makes Amber truly exceptional is her unwavering commitment to lifting others up, especially those who have no one else to turn to. “Amber lives out our mission and core values in every aspect of her daily work, tirelessly advocating for the neurology patients and supporting her co-workers,” she said.

One story that captures Amber’s spirit is when she learned about a man with special needs who had lost his truck and, with it, his livelihood. Rather than simply expressing sympathy, Amber mobilized an entire network of people to help. Within days, she had secured a vehicle for him, restoring not only his transportation, but also his dignity and independence. This is just one example among countless others showcasing Amber’s passion for helping others.

Join us in thanking Amber for making a lasting impact on the countless lives she has touched. We’re proud to have her on our team!

We recently celebrated a very special milestone in the sweetest way — our first-ever Pom Pom Parade for one of our long term NICU warriors!

Baby Deviche graduated from the NICU after an incredible 88 day stay. Born at just 27 weeks and weighing 2 lbs 9 oz, he headed home a strong and healthy 8 lbs 6 oz. His mom shared, “He was the tiniest baby ever and gained weight so fast. He is a fighter!”

We are endlessly proud of our NICU graduates, and it is truly a privilege to care for these remarkable babies and their families.

Congratulations to Emily Mcculloch, RN, Cardiovasular Recovery Unit, who was named St. Dominic’s most recent DAISY award recipient! The DAISY award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day.

Emily was nominated by multiple patient family members for her kindness, attentiveness, and exceptional care.

One family wrote that as their loved one approached the end of life, Emily stood by them, offering steady support during an incredibly difficult time.

“Emily advocated for our family member and anticipated his every need as well as the needs of our family,” the nomination said. “She was there with comforting words when our emotions were high and clouding our sense of judgement. She was never judgmental of where we stood as a family or where we were in our grief process all the while providing excellent care. As a family we are so thankful for Emily and the way that she exemplified everything that it means to be a nurse. Her compassion, dedication, knowledge, and intuition are qualities every nurse should strive to have.”

Please join us in thanking Emily for her dedication to excellence by leaving a comment! If you would like to nominate an extraordinary St. Dominic’s nurse for the DAISY award, click here: https://bit.ly/470BV1R

It’s our tradition! The Sr. Trinita Community Clinic is a constant partner with Stewpot Community Services. Recently volunteers and Sisters gathered to assemble and share 300 cold‑weather care packages for our clinic patients and individuals Stewpot serves. During the mid-day meal, each bag - filled with winter essentials and hygiene supplies - offered warmth and dignity to recipients. We are grateful for the support of the FMOL Health | St. Dominic Foundation and its generous donors who helped supply materials for care packs.

To support this special part of our ministry, donations may be made online to our foundation. Any amount helps our community clinic and its ongoing operations: https://bit.ly/49qnZCk
