I grew up in rural Northeast Ohio and then spent some time in Cincinnati, Ohio, while earning my undergraduate degree in psychology and gender and diversity studies at Xavier University. I then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Here, I also attended Authentic Yoga Teacher Training at Dave's Ashtanga Yoga/the Center for Arizona Vedic Chant. Arizona was a place of deep healing and self-discovery which also led me to meeting the love of my life, Bobby, and birthing our son Solomon (Sol) in our backyard under the warm Arizona sun. I was then called North (the direction of wisdom and determination) and began practicing naturopathic medicine and teaching yoga and workshops in the Portland/Northwest Washington area. I started working at a clinic part-time in Eugene and, soon, my family and I decided Eugene was the perfect town for us. I currently live in Eugene with my husband Bobby, son Solomon and our newest family member, baby Ari. My hobbies include: practicing yoga, traveling with my family, running and hiking with my dogs, cooking delicious and healthy meals, learning new things and always living life to the fullest!
A Truth that I live by is that everything in this life is a choice and, usually (if not always), we are faced between a choice of Fear that keeps us stuck in old repeating patterns or a choice of Love that leads to growth and self-realization. This is the art of Svadhyaya, one of the Niyamas (observances) of the Yoga Sutra. Svadhyaya translates to self-study, which allows us to better understand our own thoughts, motivations and behaviors. I strive to be a guiding light for others on their path of self-discovery: helping them to understand their body, mind and spirit; to realize the samskaras (habits) and wounds that cause their dis-ease; and teaching tools for healing and maintaining a state of optimal health and wellness.
I practice restorative and functional medicine with a focus on preventative health and wellness for the whole family (babies to elders!). I specialize in hormone balance, women’s health, digestive disorders, chronic pain and mental/emotional health. I use advanced comprehensive testing and an evidence-based holistic perspective to get to the root cause of a patient’s dis-ease. I then guide patients through customized treatment plans, utilizing safe and effective natural and modern medicine. These plans often include nutritional plans, therapeutic-grade herbs and supplements and lifestyle modifications. I offer patients an intimate and nurturing experience where you can rest assured that you will be thoroughly listened to and invited to play an active role in your care.
I firmly believe that everyone deserves to have access to high quality, patient-centered, holistic care so I created Community Day. On every 3rd Tuesday of every month, I offer low-cost appointments to those who qualify. Both new and established patients are welcome to apply at any time. Contact me for more details!
