**Statement from James J. Morton, President of the Duval County Democratic Black Caucus**
Thank you, President Joe Biden, for your unwavering dedication and service to our nation. Your leadership and commitment to justice, equality, and progress have profoundly shaped the course of our country. The nation is eternally grateful for your tireless efforts to uplift all Americans, particularly the African-American community.
Under your administration, we have witnessed historic milestones. Your steadfast support for the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, your decisive actions through the American Rescue Plan to advance economic opportunities, and your historic appointments of African-Americans to key positions in your administration are just a few examples of your unwavering dedication to our community. You have shown an unyielding commitment to dismantling systemic racism and fostering a society where everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
Now, more than ever, the Democratic Party must be united in our mission to defeat Donald Trump and continue the fight for a more equitable and just society. The Duval County Democratic Black Caucus remains steadfast in our dedication to equality and equity. We are committed to moving the party forward, ensuring that the progress we have made is not lost.
Our focus remains clear: we will continue to mobilize voters, encourage voter registration, and promote vote-by-mail initiatives. It is crucial that we stay engaged, stay informed, and stay active in this pivotal time.
We call on all members of our community to join us in this effort. Register to vote, sign up for vote-by-mail, and make your voice heard. Together, we can build on the foundation that President Biden has laid and continue to strive for a future where justice and equality are the norms, not the exceptions.
Thank you, President Biden, for your exemplary service. The Duval County Democratic Black Caucus stands with you and remains committed to the principles of democracy, justice, and equality.
Sincerely,
James J. Morton
