Cathleen Curl, born and raised in Georgetown, Texas who now resides in Florence, Texas is a dedicated board-certified Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field of healthcare. Trained by now retired, Dr. Peña and graduating from the University of Texas in 2023 with a specialization in family medicine, Cathleen has spent over six years honing her skills and knowledge in various clinical settings. Before advancing to her current role, Cathleen embarked on a rewarding nursing journey, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later transitioning to become an ICU nurse. Her commitment to excellence and passion for patient care led her to excel in roles at renowned medical centers, including Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and St. David's Medical Center in Austin. During her tenure as an ICU nurse, Cathleen demonstrated proficiency in caring for complex and critically ill patients, overseeing a 21-bed unit, and utilizing advanced medical technologies such as ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps. Her dedication to patient advocacy and quality improvement is evident through her involvement in the Service Excellence committee, where she addresses patient concerns and contributes to enhancing hospital processes. In addition to her clinical roles, Cathleen is actively engaged in professional organizations such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Cathleen's comprehensive skill set, coupled with her compassionate approach to patient care, makes her a valued member of Jarrell Medical Clinic since April of 2024. She is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care to individuals and families, empowering them to achieve optimal health and wellness.

NOTICE ABOUT RECENT CHANGES AT JARRELL MEDICAL CLINIC

Please be advised that our practice has recently undergone a change in ownership. Dr. Mayhua has retired, and his Nurse Practitioner Cathleen Curl has taken over the practice. Dr. Mayhua will continue to serve as her supervising physician for now, while we actively search for a new physician to take his place.
During this transition, we are operating with limited days and hours. We are temporarily just seeing patients on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, with a lunch break from 12 to 1 PM. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the office is closed but our team works remotely, handling calls, messages, medication refills, referrals, faxes, and processing insurance claims. For faster service and for your convenience, you can now text us at 512-588-1501, and a representative will get back to you the same day via text. We will be closed on Fridays and Sundays for now.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we go through this transition and continue to serve you with the same dedicated team and quality care. We appreciate your trust in us!
