With Thanksgiving this week...let's talk Gratitude!
1.Find 3-5 things that you are grateful for each day. These can be simple things, such as the sunshine, scent of your favorite candle, the ability to reach out to a friend or loved one, or a satisfying meal.
2. We cannot be anxious at the same time that we are thinking about things we are grateful for because they use different parts of the brain.
3.Verbalizing something that you appreciate about a friend or loved one to the other person can strengthen the relationship and increase your own sense of wellbeing.
4.Gratitude reduces stress and cortisol levels.
5. Developing a daily gratitude habit can improve physical health, including lowering blood pressure and improving sleep. If you have difficulty sleeping, try thinking about the things you are grateful for rather than that endless to-do list.
