At our recent MSOA Annual Meeting, one of our sponsoring organizations was lucky enough to win a drawing for a Tree of Andry, the early symbol of orthopaedics. The tree, crafted by long-time MSOA member and Past President Douglas Kiburz, MD, of Sedalia, was awarded to Medartis Inc., represented in this photo by Jon Steele.

At the 57th Annual Meeting last weekend, residents from across the state participated in a research competition. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three places. From left: 1st Place - Garrett Jackson, MD - MU; 2nd Place - Claire Saltzman, MD - UMKC; and 3rd Place - Katherine Gerull, MD - Washington University.

At last weekend's 57th Annual Meeting, our Missouri State Orthopaedic Association elected new leadership for 2026-2027.

Meet our new MSOA President, Gregory Della Rocca, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS. Dr. Della Rocca is Professor and Vice-Chair (Academic Affairs) of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as Inpatient Medical Director of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute.
