Mobility Worldwide

Mobility Worldwide Our mission is to empower people with the freedom of mobility, enhancing their quality of life, independence, and ability to participate in their communities.

We’ve spent the past 30+ years developing, producing, and distributing our Mobility Carts. PET International envisions a ten-fold increase in PET production and distribution by 2015.

The moment Anthony received his kids wheelchair, his smile said everything. His joy is contagious!

Anthony is 6 years old and lives in Bo District, Sierra Leone. He has cerebral palsy, and this wheelchair gives him new freedom to move and explore the world around him.

Made possible through a partnership between Mobility Worldwide Sierra Leone and Wheelchairs for Kids, this is more than a wheelchair.

It’s hope for Anthony, his family, and his community.

Brandina Mlotha is a 19-year-old student from Zomba with a clear vision for her future. She is currently a student at Ntcheu Secondary School, working toward her dream of becoming a bank manager and owning her own company one day.

Born with a physical disability, Brandina’s path to education has not been easy. During her early school years, she often didn’t have someone to accompany her to school. At one point, this resulted in a serious injury. The wheelchair she relied on required someone else to push her, and support wasn’t always available.

With the help of family, Brandina transferred schools so she could continue her education. She persevered. Through her dedication and hard work, she was able to continue on to secondary school. Her goal is to continue on to the University of Malawi.

Brandina speaks openly about disability:

“I understand that some individuals with disabilities feel limited by their physical challenges. However, I want to encourage them that disability is not an inability. Instead, I am grateful for my life and every stage I have passed until I reach my destiny.”

With the support of Action for Progress, Brandina received a Mobility Cart that has changed her life. She no longer depends on friends to push her wheelchair. She can now move independently, travel to school on her own, and live with the freedom she has always dreamed of.

For students like Brandina, access to mobility is more than getting to school. It’s confidence. It’s independence. It’s the ability to stay focused on education, not obstacles. And it opens the door to a future that once felt out of reach.

David is 8 years old and lives in Sierra Leone. He has cerebral palsy, and until recently, independent mobility was not possible.

Through a partnership between Mobility Worldwide – Sierra Leone and Wheelchairs for Kids, an Australia-based organization, David received a wheelchair specifically designed for kids!

His mother shared that receiving a wheelchair has renewed her hope and motivation to get David back to school. Access to mobility can be the first step toward education, connection, and fuller participation in community life.

This is what’s possible when global partners come together to restore mobility.

After getting sick at a young age, Isaac faced physical challenges that limited his mobility.

Today, a Mobility Cart helps him access school, church, and allows him to keep up with his friends. Isaac’s smile says it all.

Abu is a student from Boroma Koidu City, continuing his education despite significant obstacles, including polio.

His Mobility Cart will help him travel to university in Kono, reducing reliance on public transportation and allowing him to focus on being in school instead of how to get there.

Thank you for helping students like Abu.

Around the world, students face obstacles that have nothing to do with motivation or ability.

Mobility supports the ability to get to school, stay enrolled, and focus on learning instead of barriers.

Distance, rough or dirt roads, and lack of mobility can end an education before it begins.

Mobility Carts help students show up and keep moving toward their goals.

Because when access improves, opportunity follows.

Education begins with access.

Richard was forced to leave high school due to a lack of access to mobility. Instead, he learned electronics work to earn a living and support himself.

After receiving a Mobility Cart, Richard plans to use it for his work and hopes to return to complete high school next year. With improved mobility, getting around no longer stands in the way of his goals.

Richard is another example of how access to mobility can reopen doors to education and opportunity.

Hawa is a tailor, mother, advocate, and leader in her community for other women with disabilities.

Despite living with polio, she continues to support others and work to provide for her family.

After learning about the Mobility Worldwide team through a friend, Hawa was assessed and fitted at the National Rehabilitation Center in Freetown.

For Hawa, a Mobility Cart means independence and continued opportunity to support her family.

Over 300 Action Trikes are headed to Malawi!

Built by Mobility Worldwide volunteers in DeMotte, Indiana, the Action Trike is a new mobility concept designed to complement the Mobility Cart. Made from plastic rather than wood, these trikes are more durable and sit lower to the ground, making them easier to access.
