Pregnancy can stir up a lot of excitement, nerves, exhaustion, and moments where everything feels bigger than you expected. All of that is normal.

Here’s what many women experience at different stages of pregnancy:

1️⃣ First trimester:
Your emotions may be all over the place. You might feel happy one minute and overwhelmed the next. Mood swings happen, and worries about your baby, finances, or work are common. If your feelings are very intense, or if sadness or worry lasts longer than a couple of weeks, talking with a healthcare professional can help.

2️⃣ Second trimester:
Energy often comes back a bit, but new questions show up. You might think more about labor, parenting, feeding choices, or what work might be like after your baby is born. Learning what to expect, taking childbirth classes, or reading up on infant care can ease some of the stress.

3️⃣ Third trimester:
As birth gets closer, it’s normal to feel anxious or unsure. Many women start thinking about pain relief options, who their baby’s doctor will be, and how life will change. Journaling, playing calming music, or even taking selfies with your baby bump can help you feel more grounded.

No matter what trimester you’re in, your feelings are real, and they deserve attention.
If you’re pregnant in Missouri and meet income guidelines, you may qualify for free emotional support and other services through the A2A network.
