The original founder of our space—Karen Mandell, who first opened Sattva Yoga in the Heights—has left this earth 💔

I had the profound honor of having her as my mentor and guide when I first opened the doors to Sol Spirit, and her love, wisdom, and energy remain woven into every part of our space.

Though she is no longer with us in body, I know that her spirit will continues to guide us—just as it always has—now from the other side. Her roots, as shown in this picture, run deep within our walls, and her love for yoga and our community will remain ever-present. Karen was one of the sweetest souls—selfless, gentle, and endlessly kind. She gave her time freely, with a heart full of genuine care, always seeking to uplift and help others.

This is a profound loss for our community, and as we grieve and process this together, our doors will remain open for anyone who wishes to honor her memory. We will continue to shine for you, Karen. We will nurture the roots you planted, and we will carry your light forward.
