Happy New Year! Snack IDEAS! Here are some yummy snack tips from foodie, health and Wellness Coach Lissa Welles(her blog is coming soon I’m thinking we should call it Wellness with Welles or Welles Wellness hmmm).
Whether you are on a New Year reboot or just a healthy foodie. These snack ideas will keep you fueled, lean and healthy all year long!
Lissa compiled this list to be compatible with most 30 day programs, taste delicious and give you the most bang (power your body) for your snack buck.
Snacks are an important part of any diet. They maintain your blood sugar levels and keep you out of starvation mode. So let's get healthy with Lissa!

Here are some of my favorite whole foods snacks. Let me know if you have more clean snack ideas to add to this list!!
1. Ezekial toast with avocado, salt and pepper
2. Ezekial toast with an egg and avocado
3. Brown rice cakes with a tablespoon of almond butter or hummus
4. 2-3 oz of leftover salmon or chicken and some avocado slices
5. green apple and almond butter
6. sweet potato and an egg
7. Ezekial toast with hummus
8. Brown rice cakes with a sliced turkey breast and avocado
9. Roasted eggplant –cut in slices or cubes, spray with olive oil, salt, pepper, delish!
10. Veggie soups! Any veggies, stock, spices thrown together, chunky or puree with immersion blender
11. Salad
12. Almonds (I have to be careful or I eat too many!)
13. Sautéed greens and onions with an egg
14. Veggie egg (white) scramble (can bake this and then cut into servings sizes to reheat later)
15. Tuna with mashed avocado
16. Veggies cut up plain or with hummus (celery, peppers, fennel, cucumbers, mushrooms, etc.)

I wanted to ask all of you a quick question. How can I support you in the new year? Dots is all about making connections happen. So what would you like to connect with? We want it to help people in a number of ways.
• Connecting you to your; community, products, services, parks, events, recreation, restaurants, good people and things.
• Offering a helping hand to entrepreneurs by establishing community, networking opportunities and sharing what they do.
• Creating events with a purpose that fill a need in the community.
• Offering coaching; tips, tricks, recipes, sage advice, retreats and workshops for creatives, athletes, entrepreneurs, leaders or those looking to take their own personal development or health and wellness to the next level.
• And more…What do you want?
Really, what do you want? What can we focus on to best support you? Share and I promise to do my best to answer your questions, provide motivation and get the tips that you need.
So far on the docket we have;
• A blog about Ayurveda (this practice blows my mind!) with specialist Alexia Neoakis
• An interviewer with author, entrepreneur, producer, public speaker, performer…Blane Freist on his new show, book and series about entrepreneurs in America. And how to get started doing what you love.
• A blog with JC writer’s on how to get writing and maintain the practice.
• And more
Do you have something that you want to share? Let’s do it!

Happy Monday. I know, I know it's the Monday after vacation back to the grind. So why cheerfully declare happy Monday? Well because it's a good place to start fresh and you deserve a fresh start. Why not take all of those easy weekend dreams this morning, you know the ones "I'd like to do ...someday" or "I think doing...would be amazing" and write them down. Start the week off with the dream. Create an intention around it and begin to build a practice that moves you toward it from there. It's not hard, really it's not. DOTS is my dream and this is my practice of building. You can do this!

Connecting DOTS Blog 1/2/16 Good Morning 2016! I am fully convinced this is going to be an amazing year for all of us! I'm heading to Landmark Education The Forum (thanks Mom Linda Lyon and Dad Thomas Creery aka Santa for helping me pay for it) next Friday. If you have done Landmark Worldwide's Forum DISH! Share a little something about your experience on the thread below
smile emoticon

I'm nervous because it's supposed to be one of those break you down weekends to build you back up...you know what I mean. That said some of the biggest builders I know have done it Lissa Sarno Welles, Ilana Libman and Jessie Fahay. These ladies are powerhouses! Lissa runs Basic Builders : Kitchen Installers and DOTS with me all while raising 3 amazing kids and coaching folks into blissful, healthy, happiness. Jessie runs Ripple Effect Artists a theatre company that I heard she birthed at the Forum and I have also heard she's working on creating her first theatre festival...what?!? Ilana is an art and biz mastermind about to open her own space HudsonPlay on Brunswick (also born in the forum) and is the creator of many a fantastic multi media dare I say multi dimensional art experience through her co Beyond the Armor both in NYC and JC and she too manages to thrive creatively, intellectually and fiscally while raising two spirited youngsters.
I'm 40 now. It's a little late to be thinking about "growing up" but when and if I ever do these are the ladies I want to be like. So we won't call this growing up but maybe breaking through. 2016 is the year for breakthroughs both for me and those I connect with.
They say when you enroll in the Forum the magic begins. And that was the case for me. As I sorted out why I wanted to have this intense, personal development experience (eegads...am I really going to do this?) I began to pinpoint the things that I want to build and what I'm not yet doing. I've been living small, ok, ok yes, I know I have two sets of twins and that alone is anything but small. But I feel small... small on the inside...like there is this thing inside me so much bigger, grander, greater than me that's been trying to reach out and grow but I've been doing my best to stifle it. Why do I shush it? That's a whole other blog post, but don't worry I'll get to it soon. And hopefully me freeing mine will help you get a gander at yours.
DOTS is the first step to letting this beastie in me live. I'm a great connector and I want to connect people to things that will help them...more importantly I want to connect people to themselves...to their voice inside, that hungry, passionate whisper that wants to grow into something greater, richer and stronger, that wants to sing from the rooftops their song and set the world a blaze with it. I want to build a personal growth and development empire of my own. A program that connects my passions art, theatre, writing, travel, public speaking, personal development, health and helping people...whew...I know it sounds like a lot but I have a plan! It's a little scary...screw that...it's a lot scary but I'm taking baby steps to start connecting one small dot at a time. I'm going to turn this connect the dots puzzle into one glorious picture. Watch and see. Better yet jump on board and join me in this dotty adventure.

Connecting the D.O.T.S. Blog 1/1/16
New Year, new blog! And so it begins…My best friend Lissa and I have always been great connectors. I don’t know why we just get a kick out of connecting people to other people; places and things that we think could enhance their lives. One of the earliest examples I can remember of our shared connecting the dots superpower is arnica. Have you heard of it? Well if you haven’t let me connect you to this magical, little potion.
Lissa introduced me to arnica when my kids were tiny. One of them fell off a swing at preschool and managed to get a whopping goose egg over her left temple. It was one of those where you could literally watch as it swelled and swelled and ya swelled some more into a little Mount Fuji on my screaming babies face. Within moments of the fall Lissa was by my side pushing a tube of arnica into my hand and jabbering on about “this is why women were burned at the stake.” “Wait, what?!?” But she was already rubbing it on my howling child’s forehead. And just as quickly as the bruise appeared it disappeared. P**f, gone! By the time I left the playground that day you couldn’t tell where she had hit the pavement from the rest of her.
Arnica won an instant home in my diaper bag. After that and I carried arnica around slathering it on children in parks and playgrounds across Jersey City sharing its magical wonders with every mother I met.
Later it would find a home in my kids, soccer, ballet and fencing bags and I shared it with soccer moms and fencing moms alike. I’m fairly confident that it saved more than one mother a visit from child protective services especially when their sons were goalies getting pummeled by both ball and cleats like mine or fencers prone to being repeatedly jabbed by many an oncoming saber.
My business was founded on connecting people to coaching and services that they needed. So it only seems fitting that my blog do the same. D.O.T.S. stands for “doors opening to…success…safety…secrets…self…stories…” This blog is the story element. Each week I am going to highlight people, places or things in our community that are making a difference, doing something unique or that are just plain fun and need to be shared.
Do you know something, someone or some secret that needs to be shared? Dish! Send it on in to me and I will help you connect the dots.
It’s 2016! A new year full of opportunity and promise. Connections are waiting to be made. Let’s make them and make 2016 an amazing year full of doors opening to success…secrets…safety…self and stories!
What doors will you open this year?
