A trichologist is an investigator. They like to get to the root of the problem! People come looking for hope to solve their hair loss. Most have gone to doctors and dermatologists before coming to our clinic. Today, we got to follow up on someone who was diagnosed with Frontal Fibrousing Alopecia (scarring hair loss) for the last two years, following a dermatologist's protocol. They felt it was only getting worse, not better. After a few treatments, we noticed the inflammation and bumps started to heal. At 4 weeks, we have noticed a little change—more of a change than they have seen in 2 years. What we figured out in the clinic with this client is that they have more than one type of hair loss. They are getting strong regrowth all over the top of their head. It is a win-win!

Q&A for the day!!

Q.Is scalp care and hair care regimen the same for everyone?

A. A percentage of people who grow beautiful hair with no scalp problems and thinning hair or hair loss can use what is good for their hair fibers' needs.
For people with oily or dry scalps, we recommend a scalp care regimen.
Then you have hair loss or thinning hair, and we need to provide the scalp with nutrients in the regimen.

Q.What is the best way to know what regime you should be using for your scalp and hair?

A. Seeing a certified trichologist who is also a licensed Cosmetologist can provide you with the right regimen.
Set up a consultation and be guided by the one with all the knowledge about scalp and hair needs.

I'm a trichologist who knows the benefits of laser therapy. I take a laser with me on vacation. I carry three laser caps that I highly recommend. This is not just a red light therapy cap; it has laser diodes for the highest level of healing. Ask me what the difference is in the comments.

The Journey of Hair Loss and Finding What Works and What Doesn’t. We meet many people who go down the rabbit hole to fix their problems on their own, based on what they see from internet influencers. Most of the time, these influencers don't have any education on the science of hair loss. Or they go to their local dermatologist, are offered a prescription, take it for a month, and say it didn't work. Seeing a certified trichologist takes all the guesswork out of whether it's working. The influencer is not looking at your follicle and taking images to track your progress. They are not explaining how the process works or how long it can take before you start seeing results. We take the time to do a hair and scalp analysis using a microscope. We offer a check-up a month to look under the scope again and see what we can not see with our eyes this early. This check, we always say, is to assess scalp health. At one month, sometimes, we get a great surprise at the increase in density. This check keeps the client motivated and gives them hope that they are not only maintaining hair density but also rejuvenating density.
