A COUPLE OF SAD FACTS ABOUT SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST IN WOMEN.

A woman who suffers a Sudden Cardiac Arrest in public is far less likely to survive than a man.
Women are 27% less likely to receive bystander CPR than men.

WHY ?
They are women and people (particularly men) are worried about where to place their hands, whether it is OK to touch them and expose their breasts.
Bras need to be removed to effectively use a Defibrillator.
Men can be be very wary of doing this in public.

If someone has a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, they are effectively DEAD.
Only CPR with Defibrillation can save their life !

I’m sure that MOST women would rather be handled by a stranger and have their breasts exposed for all to see than be DEAD !

A woman’s breasts tend to fall either side of the torso during CPR so won't get in the way of chest compressions.
The image below shows that when it comes to the Defibrillator pads, the left breast may need lifting to apply the pad, but it can then fall back over the top of the pad; the shock goes through the underside of the pad.

The only certainty of NOT doing CPR and Defibrillation is that the patient WILL DIE.

REACT and potentially save a life !
