My turtle rescue on New Years.
Found her floundering out in the water. Her injury to her right flipper was severe and saw blood. If I let her go chances are she would bleed out and/or bacterial infection set in... she would die. The lifeguard and a city and county male employee insisted I let it go...you know nature take it’s course. Well are a threatened species...it is our Kuleana to report injured animals.

Do not touch, chase, mo**st them. Under the circumstances I had to catch and assist her/him. Mahalos , Pam from City and County, .dlnr and for your help.

If you see entangled wildlife at sea, please GPS and report it to be very specific on coordinate.

Honu was picked up by HMAR and taken to an animal hospital in Kailua. It was worth the wait. Thank you to the strangers on the beach that offered support. Happy New Year Honu. Great way to start 2021
