Today is a day to celebrate the beautiful tapestry of motherhood. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing and supporting so many different dynamics – from stay-at-home moms to working mothers, single moms to those navigating the profound loss of a child, those who’ve adopted or struggled with fertility and more. Each journey is filled with its own unique challenges, yet they all share one thing in common: the incredible strength and resilience that defines motherhood.

Being a mother is like being a superhero. We are the growers, the birthers, the nurturers, the teachers, the snack providers, the sport organizers, the boo-boo healers, the entertainers, and the snugglers. We wear countless hats and juggle our responsibilities one by one, embracing each role with love and dedication. No matter how the day unfolds, we wake up ready to do it all over again. Well, maybe not ready, but we do it anyway.

To me, being a mother means nurturing not just a child, but a future filled with hope, love, and endless possibilities. Even on the toughest days, when I find myself questioning if I’m doing enough or feeling touched out and overwhelmed, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world.

To all the mothers out there, you are seen, you are loved, and you are doing an amazing job!

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️

🌙 Join us for the last Baby Moon Baby Clinic of 2024.

We have seen the immense benefits of early lactation support and craniosacral therapy during the early days, weeks and months of an infants life. Therefore startrd the Baby Moon Baby Clinic to provide accessible care to all.

Our mission is to promote the holistic well-being of infants through gentle bodywork and comprehensive lactation support. We believe that early interventions, such as craniosacral therapy, are vital for easing the transition to life outside the womb, enhancing physical and emotional development. By fostering successful breastfeeding and nurturing the bond between parent and child, we aim to ensure that every infant receives the essential care and support needed for healthy growth and flourishing.

Aloha! Welcome to Little Opihi Lactation.
Curious about the story behind the name? Let me share a little history with you! 🌺
In Hawaii, an “opihi” (sounds like oh-pee-hee) is a prized delicacy. It is a type of limpet, similar to a barnacle in the sense they like to stick to their home. “Mommy’s little opihi” is also used as a term of endearment for keiki that like to stick to their mothers. 👩‍🍼
One evening I was reading Limu to my son and when the little opihi was trying to make its way home, he asked me what is an opihi. After explaining to him what they were, he asked “am I your little opihi?!” That heartwarming moment inspired the name for my practice. Not only does it accurately describe my son, but breastmilk is a prized delicacy and I have the privilege of supporting many little “boob barnacles” ❤️
Having a name that holds such personal significance brings me immense joy, and knowing that other parents can connect with the essence of “Little Opihi.”

Postpartum doulas offer customized support based on the family’s needs. Today the parents wanted to prioritize sleep. So little miss and I got to spend some quality time together and get some cleaning done.
