Pyoderma Gangrenosum. I’ve been spending every moment of everyday fighting this new problem. It is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had to use a wheelchair at times and have had to ask for help with everything! Thank god for my husband, children, mom, dad, and sisters.

I have had a rough couple of days with eczema and skin issues. Thank goodness for family to help with everything! When I am dealing with skin issues I try and let my skin air out when possible and I change my base plate more often. Just spending a weekend at home working in the yard and relaxing.

Some days are sh*tty. Literally. I was walking into Sam’s Club when the worst thing possible happened, a bag leak. A leak, to all of my non-ostomates, is when stool goes under the bandaid that holds my bag to my skin! If I have a leak, I have to immediately do a bag change, which is not very fun in a public restroom. Thankfully, I was able to use the family restroom which is big, personal, and has a mirror for me to use! I am writing this post for all of the people who don’t see my disability. It is there I promise. So for all of those people that give me a negative look when walking out of the family restroom/handicap stall, or handicap parking spot I pray everyday you never have to have a disability. Some days are better than others and my ostomy did save my life, but some days are harder than others and so much work. Through the tears, comes smiles and through the bad, comes good. My disability might slow me down but it WILL NEVER stop me.
