We prioritize the use of raw herbs for several compelling reasons, chief among them being the potency they retain in their natural state. Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine relies heavily on the integrity of these plants; processing can diminish their therapeutic properties. By preserving the raw form of the herbs, we ensure that each ingredient remains pure and effective.

✨Understanding the Pulse in Chinese Medicine ✨
In Chinese medicine, the pulse is not just a measure of heart rate; it encompasses various characteristics that reflect the state of the body's organs and systems. We typically evaluate several aspects of the pulse, including:
✨ Rate | The speed at which the pulse beats.
✨ Depth | How easily the pulse can be felt at different levels (superficial vs. deep).
✨ Quality | The texture or nature of the pulse (e.g., thin, wiry, soft, slippery).

Each of these characteristics can indicate specific imbalances or conditions within the body, helping to form a comprehensive picture of your health.

Not All Herbs Work the Same Way | In Chinese Medicine, herbs are grouped into categories based on how they interact with the body:

✨Some warm and kindle the body’s fire
✨Some cool and clear heat
✨Some move what’s stuck
✨Some nourish what’s depleted
✨Some dry dampness, while others moisten dryness

Each category has its own personality — and each herb within it has its own unique voice.

But here’s the key:
How we choose an herbal category isn’t as simple as matching a symptom to a remedy.

Tongue and pulse diagnostics are essential tools for sorting through the roots and branches of a case. They help us see why a symptom is there — and that “why” is what guides the formula.

So as we share more in the coming weeks, remember:

It’s never “just take this herb.” -- work with a licensed provider to ensure you are getting the right herbs for YOU and your case!

Is Pain Always Inflammation? | We often treat “pain” and “inflammation” like they’re the same thing. But in Chinese Medicine, pain can have many different causes — and only one of them is heat/inflammation.

✨Sometimes pain needs cooling.
✨Sometimes it needs warmth.
✨Sometimes it needs movement.
✨Sometimes it needs nourishment.

The key is knowing the story behind the pain — not just the simple presence of a symptom.

Herbs & Temperature | ‘temperature’ — not in degrees, but in how they feel inside the body. Some are warming like a cozy blanket, others cooling like a fresh breeze.
