After decades of bipartisan support, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) abruptly issued letters and actions cancelling Congressionally-appropriated grants for lifesaving mental health and substance use programs. Grantees, including Mental Health America affiliates, were notified overnight that their funding would be cut, effective immediately.

Mental Health America strongly urges the Administration to restore, and Congress to protect, hundreds of Federal grants which support su***de and overdose prevention and treatment, maternal health services, first-responder support, and other front-line care for millions of Americans.

Contact your representatives now and urge them to restore funding and protect urgently needed care and support. https://mhanational.salsalabs.org/samhsagrantalert
