For educators who are done just surviving.

🌱 Rooted & Ready is one day that changes how you teach, lead, and show up.

You didn’t get into education just to survive it.

But somewhere between the unread emails, the hard mornings, the behavior escalations, and the students carrying more than they can hold — survival quietly became the goal.

That ends this summer.

Rooted & Ready is a one-day intensive workshop created for new teachers and their mentor teachers — the Roots & Branches pairing — to do the work that most professional development never touches:

Your own internal regulation.

Not theory.
Not another framework to file away.
Not inspiration that disappears by Monday morning.

This is real, personal, immediately usable work built around one truth:

The most powerful thing you can change in your classroom is you.

🌿 WHAT THIS DAY IS BUILT ON

This workshop is grounded in nearly 25 years of experience in education, including leading a school turnaround where suspension rates dropped dramatically in a single semester.

Not because of a new policy.
Not because of a new curriculum.
Because the adults in the building did their own work first.

That is the foundation of Rooted & Ready.

🌱 WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH

✔ Know your triggers before your students do
Learn to identify the moments that hijack your best teaching — and exactly what to do when they happen.

✔ Stop surviving your day — start resetting within it
Leave with a personal regulation plan you can actually use in real time.

✔ Build a shared language that sticks
New teachers and mentor teachers develop a common framework that makes coaching conversations faster, deeper, and more honest.

✔ Rediscover why you started
Reconnect with the purpose that brought you into education and let it shape how you show up moving forward.

🌿 THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR

The Roots & Branches pairing:
A new or newer teacher and their mentor teacher attending side by side.

Throughout the day, you’ll build a shared language, shared practices, and a shared plan you can bring back into your building together.

And if you’re a mentor teacher who has spent years pouring into everyone else while running on empty — this day is for you too.

🌱 THIS IS NOT A SIT-AND-GET PD

Every block has a purpose.
Every protocol builds toward something tangible.

You will leave with:

• Your personal Educator Regulation Profile
• A Monday-ready Educator Regulation Plan built by you
• One anchor regulation practice rehearsed enough times that it lives in your body — not just your notes

Presented by Cynthia Corn-Wattree, M.Ed., founder of The Brave Educator Project and veteran education professional with nearly 25 years of experience in schools, classrooms, and educator development.

Her work centers one conviction:

Sustainable school transformation begins with the adults.

Everyone deserves better.

That is not a slogan.
It is the reason she keeps showing up.

✨ While Rooted & Ready is designed around the new teacher and mentor pairing, any educator ready to do this work is welcome.

Breaking Cycles, Building Futures: A Call to Community Healing

When we look at our neighborhoods, we see more than just statistics about violence, dysfunction, or broken homes. We see stories—stories of Black men, families, and communities carrying generations of unprocessed trauma. Too often, the narrative told about us focuses on deficits, but the truth is deeper: beneath the surface lies resilience, untapped potential, and a hunger for healing.

The struggles we face today are not accidents of character. They are echoes of history—of disconnection, systemic harm, and wounds left unattended. Erik Erikson taught us that identity and trust form the bedrock of human development. John Bowlby reminded us that attachment and safety are central to how we learn to love and relate. For too many of us, those foundations were disrupted. The result? Cycles of pain that sometimes show up as gun violence, domestic conflict, or fractured families.

But we also know this: healing is possible. Transformation is possible. Wholeness is possible.

At Radical Empowerment Services, we believe the path forward begins with value-based healing—a process of anchoring ourselves in the values that define who we are, not the trauma that was imposed on us. Through this lens, every man, woman, and young person has the opportunity to build a life rooted in clarity, strength, and purpose.

We also integrate mind-body medicine, because trauma does not just live in memory—it lives in the body. Breathwork, mindfulness, movement, and restorative practices help us release what has been stored in our muscles, nervous systems, and spirits. Healing is not just talk—it’s embodied.

And we are committed to dynamic harm prevention—workshops and classes designed to equip our community with tools to manage emotions, disrupt cycles of violence, and protect our futures. These spaces are not about punishment; they are about possibility. They are about teaching new ways of relating, leading, and loving that stop generational curses in their tracks.

This is not only therapy. It is mentorship. It is cultural reclamation. It is community empowerment.

We invite you—whether as a parent, educator, mentor, or community leader—to join us. Together, we can rewrite the narrative. Together, we can invest in a model of healing that acknowledges the past but refuses to be bound by it.

Because healing is not just an individual journey—it is a collective responsibility. And when we heal, we create futures where our children can grow free, whole, and unafraid.

Radical Empowerment Services is here for you.

• Value-Based Healing Sessions: Anchor yourself in your core values and build a life aligned with purpose.
• Mind-Body Medicine Classes: Explore mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic healing.
• Dynamic Harm Prevention Workshops: Learn tools for emotional management, conflict resolution, and community safety.

It’s time to move from surviving to thriving. It’s time to reclaim our stories. It’s time for radical empowerment.

Holding Space After an Unexpected Loss...

When a community experiences sudden loss, grief ripples through homes, schools, organizations, and hearts. Whether you knew the individual personally or are simply affected by the weight of the tragedy, this moment calls for care, compassion, and connection.

Radical Empowerment Services offers the following trauma-responsive guidance to support emotional well-being and community solidarity during times of crisis.

💔 Grief Is Not a Problem to Solve — It’s a Wound to Tend
We invite the community to consider these three steps toward healing:

1. Make Space for the Loss
Take a breath. Pause. Feel.

Grief may come as sadness, anger, numbness, confusion, or fatigue.

There is no “right” way to grieve. Let others grieve differently too.

Give yourself and others permission to slow down.

2. Release the Shame of “Not Doing Enough”
Many community members—caregivers, educators, neighbors—carry an invisible burden after a loss: “Could I have done more?”
This is not a sign of failure, but a reflection of your empathy.

Be gentle with your inner voice.

Speak to yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a friend.

Support one another without judgment or urgency to fix.

We don’t heal through blame—we heal through belonging.

3. Reconnect to Our Shared Values
When we experience loss, returning to what matters most can guide us forward:

Honor the life lost—whether through words, rituals, memories, or silence.

Embrace care, justice, dignity, and togetherness.

Let these values shape how we respond—not just today, but going forward.

Grief shows us what we love. Let that love lead us.

🌿 Community Reflection Prompts
For households, community spaces, or quiet moments:

What am I feeling right now, and what do I need?

Who in my circle may need a check-in or word of comfort?

What would it look like to move through this with care—for myself and others?

In times like these, grief can feel isolating. But none of us are alone in it.

Please care for yourselves and each other. Let rest, ritual, and relationship be your tools. We hold space with you.

Sometimes self care is not responding to somebody and allowing them to be wrong about you without feeling the need to correct them.
