UH and its Level I Trauma Services welcomed Leadership participants from Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a hands-on, lifesaving lesson and a tour of the Emergency Department trauma resuscitation area. The business superstars from across Missouri learned how to with a tourniquet. UH sent each participant home with a stop the bleed kit. UH Trauma Services has taught nearly 200 classes to more than 3,800 law enforcement officers, educators and community groups.

As the new Chair, Surgery Department, Dr. Lau is focused on improving clinical outcomes, promoting patient access, and teaching the next generations of surgeons.

With a Master’s in Health Professions Education, he will emphasize teamwork and communication skills with compassion and caring at the bedside.

He has also taken the time to notice the dedication of providers and staff and stated, “Everyone I’ve met strongly supports the UH mission and chooses to be here, and I think that is very special.”
