Welcome to the first of the year ✨

How were your holiday celebrations? What was the best part for you?

As we step into a new year, many people begin thinking about New Year’s resolutions—setting new goals or reevaluating old ones. How has that process felt for you so far? Have you taken time to reflect on what you want this next year to look like for you?

If not, I encourage you to pause and consider creating a few short-term goals, along with some longer-term ones. Identifying where you want to go can help you feel grounded, purposeful, and more connected to what you’re working toward each day.

What do goals mean to you?
Do they help you feel actively engaged in building the life you want?
Or do you prefer to live more freely—making decisions in the moment and flowing with what comes?

Often, I recommend starting with small, short-term goals. They can be powerful reminders of your own agency and capability. Every choice, decision, and action you make holds the potential to positively shape your life. What you do today helps create tomorrow—and all the days that follow.

So if your New Year’s goal is simply “I want to be happy,” try checking in with yourself as you make decisions:
• Does this choice move me closer to that goal?
• Does it help me maintain it?

Small, intentional steps matter. And you are more powerful than you may realize. 💛

🎄✨ Chief Meets Santa — and Passes the Test! ✨🎄

Chief had his very first Christmas visit with Santa today 🎅🐾
After careful review (and a few sniffs), Santa confirmed what we already knew: Chief is officially a VERY good boy ❤️

As we head into the holiday season, Chief wants to share a little reminder—because being on the “good list” isn’t about perfection, it’s about taking care of yourself too.

🧠 Holiday Mental Health & Self-Care Tips from Chief:
• Create a proactive coping plan before stress sneaks up—know what helps you reset
• Address sensory needs (quiet spaces, headphones, fresh air, or movement matter!)
• Start practicing deep breathing skills now, not just when things feel overwhelming
• Take breaks early—at the first sign of overstimulation or dysregulation
• And remember: it is absolutely okay to say “no”, decline invites, or leave early if you need to

The holidays are meant to be meaningful—not exhausting. Protect your peace, honor your limits, and take care of yourself the way Santa takes care of the good boys and girls ❤️🐶

🎁✨ From Chief: rest is productive, boundaries are healthy, and you deserve joy—on your terms.

🌟 BIG NEWS! 🌟
Chief officially earned his STAR Puppy Certification and we are SO proud of him! 🐾✨

This milestone took a lot of hard work, and he crushed every challenge thrown his way — from sitting and staying, to accepting grooming from others, to handling big hugs, and staying calm even with tons of distractions. And of course… he knocked them ALL out of the park! 🎉🙌

Watching him grow, learn, and shine has been such a joy.
Go Chief!! ❤️🐶💫

Up next: Canine Good Citizen Certificate! 🏅🐾
Onward and upward, little superstar!

🍁 Welcome to Thanksgiving Week 🍁
As we move into the start of the holiday season, pause for a moment and check in with yourself. How are you feeling right now? Excited, overwhelmed, peaceful, unsure? All of it is valid.

We’ve been gifted with warmer-than-usual weather, which can sometimes lift our spirits during a time when mood dips are common. But colder days are on the way, and with them may come shifts in energy or emotion. This makes it even more important to stay connected—to yourself and to others.

One powerful way to support your emotional well-being is by giving back. Have you taken time recently to do something kind for someone else? Even a small act can remind you that you have the ability to influence your mood and positively impact someone else’s day—or even their week.
You hold more power than you realize. Each choice you make can lead you toward emotional nourishment or away from it. How will you choose to use your power this week?

✨ Weekly Journal Prompt (Holiday Edition!)

1️⃣ Your most memorable Thanksgiving:
What’s a Thanksgiving memory that stands out to you?
Who was there?
What happened?
What made that moment meaningful?

2️⃣ What you’re grateful for this year:
These past few years have challenged many of us in unexpected ways. But with challenge also came perspective, closeness, and moments we may have overlooked before.
What good has grown in your life recently?
What experiences, people, or moments feel especially meaningful this year?

Wishing you warmth, reflection, and connection as we enter the holiday season.
Happy Holidays 🤎

✨🐾 Chief is leveling up! 🐾✨
Today at Fantastic Fido’s Day School class, Chief put in some serious work on his journey toward becoming a Therapy Dog—and he crushed it!

From practicing calm confidence on his transitional lead to showing off his “overall good boy behavior,” he’s officially graduating toward using just the slip lead. His focus, progress, and heart continue to shine every single week.

Soon he’ll be joining me in my therapeutic setting, spreading comfort, joy, and those perfect Chief cuddles. 💛

Let’s give him a big cheer as he continues his training!
Go Chief! 🌟🐶💕

🐾 Chief is back at Fantastic Fido’s in St. Joseph for his second session of Day School! He’s working hard toward his Therapy Dog certification, growing and learning every day. 💪 Through it all, he’s still the same goofy, fun-loving, and social pup everyone knows and adores. ❤️

I’ll be sharing updates on Chief’s progress and his journey to becoming a certified therapy dog — ready to be out in the community, offering comfort and support, and eventually joining me during weekly therapy sessions. 🐶✨

Check in often to follow along as Chief grows, learns, and becomes the best support for a positive therapy experience! 💛

Some days it’s easy to find something to be grateful for — other days, it takes a little more effort. But even on the hardest days, there’s *always* something good hiding in the mix: a kind word, a moment of laughter, a quiet breath that reminds you you’re still standing. 💛

Taking a few seconds each day to notice one positive thing can make a big difference over time. It helps shift your focus from what’s heavy to what’s healing — reducing stress, building emotional resilience, and helping you feel more grounded and hopeful.

Gratitude doesn’t mean ignoring what’s difficult. It means allowing the good and the hard to coexist — and choosing to notice the light that’s still there. ✨

Tonight, try this:
Pause and name one small thing that went right today.
Write it down. Feel it. Let it count.

You might be surprised how much that small practice can change the way you feel tomorrow. 💚

🍂 As the seasons shift, so can our mood and energy. With fall settling in, it’s a great time to be proactive about your mental health rather than waiting until things feel overwhelming.

I currently have a few openings for weekly and biweekly therapy sessions — a supportive space to work through seasonal depression, anxiety, or whatever else may be on your mind.

Taking care of your mental health is an act of strength, and starting now can make the months ahead feel lighter and more manageable. 💛

🌅 Mindset Matters: Start Your Day with Intention 🌿

Ever notice how starting the day with dread or stress often leads to a tough day? When we expect negativity, our brains naturally look for proof that it’s true — this is confirmation bias in action. We begin to believe our own negative thoughts, and suddenly… the experience feels just as bad as we feared.

But here’s the truth:
💭 When we constantly tell ourselves we can’t… we make it harder to succeed.
That inner dialogue becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Our thoughts influence our emotions, and those emotions shape our actions. If we think we’ll fail, we approach challenges with defeat already in our hearts.

🛑 This creates a vicious cycle — but it can be broken.

✨ The good news? You have more control over yourself than you often give yourself credit for. You can choose new thoughts. You can reframe the moment. And while we can’t guarantee a win every time, we can promise this:
You will show up and give your absolute best. And that’s powerful.

🧠 Mindset shift starts with one thought. One moment. One choice.

🌞 Happy Wednesday, friends!

The weather is looking beautiful this week—take that as your personal invitation to slow down and care for the most important person in your life: you. 💛

✨ “Self-care means considering yourself a worthwhile person and presenting yourself as valuable, capable, and deserving.”
– Arin Murphy-Hiscock

Life can feel like a constant juggling act—and let’s be honest, the first ball we tend to drop is the “me” ball. But here’s the truth: that ball is the most important one. Taking care of YOU gives you the energy and strength to show up for everyone and everything else in your life—whether that’s your kids, your job, your partner, or your passions.

So here’s your gentle nudge:
💚 Go for a walk, jog, or run this weekend.
🌿 Get outside, breathe deeply, and feel the sun on your skin.
🪴 Maybe even plant something—watch how it thrives with a little love and care, just like you will.

You deserve your own time, energy, and kindness. Let this be your reminder that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential.

👇 Tell me—what’s one thing you’re doing just for YOU this weekend?

🌟 Triggering Holidays: Make a Plan, Take Your Power Back 🌟

For many, holidays like the 4th of July can be overwhelming—especially with loud noises, large crowds, or unexpected changes. If you know this time might be triggering for you, it’s okay. You’re not alone.

💡 Have you created a plan to support yourself before things become overwhelming?

Awareness is powerful. Just recognizing that something may be a trigger gives you the chance to prepare—and preparation is a form of self-care.

While we can’t always prevent triggers, we can create a plan for how to respond when they arise. Whether it’s grounding techniques, a quiet space, or a support person to reach out to—having that plan in place gives you back a sense of control.

You deserve peace. Let your plan lead the way. 💛

How are you doing as we are getting closer to the holiday? Are you an over stimulated parent that has a naughty elf, have high expectations of yourself, feeling stretched thin financially, or spending the holiday alone? Now is a great time to gift yourself love, care and consideration this holiday season. Taking time out for yourself to pause and meet your needs is a great way to recharge your batteries and ensure you have in you what you want in order to have the holiday experience you desire. I highly recommend this holiday season to take a moment and create a plan of action for yourself to ensure that if you find yourself overwhelmed or overstimulated that you do not have to think of or create a plan in the moment. It is ok to step away for a moment and give yourself the time and attention you need. When you do this you allow yourself to enjoy your time just as you deserve!!

*picture is from an overstimulated mom…I mean elf! Remember we do not have to be perfect, because there is no such thing!

**Also, clearly it’s quite difficult to see which one is cake! 😉 is it cake “Elf Edition”
